This Quick Setup video demonstrates setting up a MMO - Standard configuration

The MMO - Standard configuration style is the gold standard for most major MMORPGs, providing the ability to have your entire team Assist or Follow the Character you are playing, and sharing buttons 1 through = (standard MMORPG action buttons) between them. The MMO - Standard configuation style is available in the Quick Setup Wizard.

Initial Setup

MMO - Standard is generally configured during the Quick Setup Wizard by specifying Hotkeys (buttons you want to press to activate multiboxing features, e.g. to make your team Assist or Follow you) and Game Key Bindings (buttons configured within the game, that do things in the game). For most MMORPGs, it is especially important that you set up the Game Key Bindings tab, so that ISBoxer knows what to do when you are pressing buttons; the Hotkeys tab can usually be left default if needed.

The Hotkeys tab

Hotkeys are buttons you press to activate multiboxing features, such as to make your team Assist or Follow you
Configuring Hotkeys in the Quick Setup Wizard

Settings from this section are generally placed in the Key Maps "Always On", "Combat" and "Non-combat".

ISBoxer includes various Hotkeys by default, including
  • Follow Me: Alt+F
  • Assist Me: Alt+A
  • Toggle Broadcasting Mode: Shift+Alt+R
  • Toggle Key Maps/Menu Hotkeys: Shift+Alt+M
  • In-game ISBoxer GUI (ISBoxer Control Panel): Ctrl+Shift+Alt+G
  • Combat Hotkeys: 1 through =
Default Hotkeys not configured here
  • Ctrl+Alt+#: Switch to window #. This Hotkey is configured per Slot in your Character Set.
    • Note: If "I have an Alt Gr key" is checked, this Hotkey becomes Shift+Alt+# instead, to avoid conflicts with Alt Gr+#

All Hotkeys are fully configurable either during the Wizard, or after completing the Wizard.

Broadcasting Mode starts ON in all windows is off by default for MMO - Standard. If this option is enabled, the Broadcasting Mode toggle will enable or disable Broadcasting Mode from all windows rather than one window at a time.

Additional Combat Hotkeys beyond 1 through = can most easily be configured using the Mapped Key Wizard. If you would prefer to use Menus similar to the optional Standard Menu (overlay for your Action Bar), this video (also linked on the Menus page) covers the setup.

The Game Key Bindings tab

Configuring Game Key Bindings in the Quick Setup Wizard
This tab is used to tell ISBoxer what buttons you have configured in the game

Settings from this section will be placed under Variable Keystrokes.

For World of Warcraft, fill in Interact with Target and optionally Focus Target; the remaining options should be left default for best results. The ISBoxer Addon for WoW will handle the rest!

For most other MMORPGs, it is important to tell ISBoxer the game's configured key bindings for Follow Target and Assist Target. For games that have an Interact with Target key binding (WoW, LOTRO, RIFT and others) configure the key binding here as well. Focus Target is not used by the generated ISBoxer configuration except for setting up a Variable Keystroke you may use via a Variable Keystroke Action.

Is there a button each guy can pass in the game to Target the others?

Referred to as the Targeting Table, this table allows you to configure the game's Key Bindings for targeting each individual Character. This option is not typically used by World of Warcraft as the "per-Character Targeting Macros" option is used instead, but this table is necessary for most other games in order to have your team Follow or Assist your active Character.

Each Character will have a different button in the game they need to press in order to target another party member. F2, for example, usually targets the first player in the game's party member list, with F3 targeting the next, and so on. For most games, these keys are easily predicted because it relates to the order the party was formed, and for these games you can simply click the Auto-fill button. A notable exception is Star Wars: The Old Republic; for SWTOR, the party member list is unrelated to the order the party was formed, and the keys for each Character must be manually checked within the game in order to fill in the key bindings.

Use per-Character Targeting Macros

This option is handy for those games that allow creation of macros that can Follow or Assist individual Characters, tied to custom Key Bindings. RIFT is a good example of a game where this is possible. In this case, set up the in-game macros and Key Bindings, and then fill in the list of Assist and Follow key bindings here for each Character.

For certain games, the list of Assist and Follow key bindings is replaced by a "Simplified" method. For the Simplified method, each Slot in your Character Set has a "Slot ID ("FTL") Modifier" that can be combined with a single key to form the final key combination. For example, Slot 1 will default to Left Shift; if the Assist button is set to F12 here, then Left Shift+F12 is sent in order to Assist Slot 1.
