WoW Will not Start

Used the trail some time ago, everything was working fine. Now have windows 8 and wanted to start ISboxer again. Try to start it up but will not start.
Did a few fresh installs plus new character sets, but nothing seemed to work.

Any help would be more than welcome.

Thanks for the great program by the way.

Re: WoW Will not Start

Okay, so you launch your team and zero instances come up?

When you try to launch your team, the Console window in the main Inner Space window provides a log of what it's trying to do. So to start with, right click Inner Space and select Console. This will bring up the main Inner Space window, and a Console should be open near the top of the window. Try launching your team (from the Inner Space menu under ISBoxer Character Sets, preferably) and see what it says.

Is what is in the console and no instances of the game open at all. There is more than one character in the team as well. All I get after trying to run the IS boxer character set is the mouse loading icon then nothing.

Also is is my config. This is standard quick start wizard I'm using.

Re: WoW Will not Start

This is starting to really piss me off now. Nothing I try works. Anyone out there with any ideas, before I ask for a refund?

Re: WoW Will not Start

https://www.lavishsoft.com/account has a refund button if that's what you'd like to do.

Otherwise, get me Diagnostics. If the game is not launching it's usually not going to be related to your ISBoxer configuration. We have a handy thread linked at the top of each forum section called What to do if ISBoxer, or your game, will not launch about the Diagnostics and what I might typically look for in them.

Re: WoW Will not Start

Fair enough. I don't see any of the usual suspects in your Diagnostics, which is probably why I asked for the Console output -- which looks as it should.

You can try shutting down Catalyst Control Center (ccc.exe), some people have reported issues with certain settings (I think involving application-specific graphics profiles). You can also check for new video drivers, if you haven't done that.

You can also try switching ISBoxer to launch WoW in Direct3D 9 mode instead of Direct3D 11 mode (or vice versa), if you haven't tried that. That helps some people.

Also make sure you don't have any Windows compatibility settings configured for wow.exe.

Re: WoW Will not Start

Re-installed Display card driver, shut-down Control centre and tried both DirectX modes.

No of anything else I can try?
Thanks

Re: WoW Will not Start

So moving my wow install out of my program files made it work. That took me far to long to get it going.

Re: WoW Will not Start

I had this exact problem after upgrading to Windows 8, and I fixed it thanks to this post. My WoW was not in Program Files, but I reset its permissions to inherited and everything works again.

It did work sporadically and launch the WoW instances correctly but then it wouldn't run the key set to run when character set is loaded, and trying to login via repeater would be sluggish (like 3-5 seconds lag). Is it possible that it's retrying some action repeatedly and failing instead of giving an error message?
