[WoW] "Pro CLS Config" for EVERYONE : UPDATED 11/13/2012

Ok, so this is just downright amazing

I am about 4/5 of the way through your "Like a Pro" HOWTO and ran into an issue with ISBoxer throwing an exception when adding WoW Macros, so I can't further at the moment, but once I finally started reading through you defintely had this all planned out to take advantage of the bigger picture, and use a single template to roll out totally customized sets for anything, not just WoW.

Very nice, and clean, and once I understood somewhat where you were going with it then it made a lot of sense. It's a little work in the beginning, but you definitely streamline the whole process.

One thing I added, but can't really test yet, is also adding sections in the Mapped Keys area for Crowd Control, Buffing party/targets, Low on Mana issues during combat, taunt (which I think you had already mentioned), and using Mounts - hoping I can setup a macro to automatically grab whatever mount is available in that area (Flying > Swimming > Land), but I'm still learning.

Thanks for the awesome work in this, it really helps make this software shine and show the massive potential behind it.

I will help you out as much as time permits, I have 20 accounts and still getting ISBoxer down fully, even though I think I'll never learn it all, however the Like a Pro is the model I used on building this configuration file, because of the simple fact of how this will work will follow here by the next day or two when I post a how-to use this configuration. Then you will get a overview of how all of this is put together.

Remember i have pretty much 99% of all spells within ISBoxer that pertain to World of Warcraft within the Game Helpers :: World of Warcraft :: Macro Sets:

Which is all put together via the Class Level and Spec within the Key Maps area. However to provide mount macros and etc... I'm sure you're referencing Druids, there's some all in one macros as such on the web, I know that I made my own before I found ISBoxer about a month ago to make my game more interesting. However I have a "Straight Key Map that leads to my in-game "Mount Macro" within the game. So if I'm on a five man team, they all have their mount macro setup within the game, and I just simply press the Key on my keyboard and they'll all mount up and ride off into the sunset.

Then to see how this is all coming together within the Keymaps of each Class Level Spec (Will refer as CLS from here on out)



Do note, I'm trying to take the time and list each "WoW" Macro's description within each of them, so you don't have to go fumbling through Wowhead.com or another site to remember what it's cooldown is, or what that spell does exactly. Trying to keep it all in one is the idea.

I am ready and willing to test this out as well. I have a boring job with a lot of downtime and am able to play WoW a lot during work, as well as when I get home for the night. Only class I don't have is warlock, but I've been thinking of taking them up anyway so it would be a perfect opportunity to test from lvl 1 and up.

Getting ready to roll two new 3 character teams on a new server where I will be moving my main. Fairly new to ISBoxer and still learning myself. So I can identify with your feelings you mentioned having when you began. Sounds like this will be a wonderful answer to many ISBoxer customers both now and in the future. So I'd be more than happy to help you with testing. And reporting is not an issue.

The first team I'm rolling in the next couple days will be 3 DKs. But the next will probably be 3 lvl 1 mages. I may drop one DK from the first team and add a healer later when I have one lvl'd up. But for now it'l be those three and I'm open to your input on the specs. I'm in game daily and more hours than I care to admit. Small teams, I know, but as I said still learning my way around. So if you're interested, please pm me anytime. Hey, at least you'll know how idiot proof it is.

Either way, this has obviously been an incredible effort and I applaude your determination! So let me be one of the first to thank you.

Alge was talking to me in the #isboxerwow chatroom about setting up this pro config and I got it running my team so I would really like to help you out.


I currently only get to play on the 2 days a week I have off work but I generally will sit down and play wow for about 6-8 hours each time I play.

Note on Healing: Healing with ISBoxer I noticed how I setup in different ways combination, have shown "OVERHEALING" if the healer is ran as a slave. Myself I'm on a wpvp (World PvP) server and overhealing can get you killed pretty quick if you don't do it all correctly.

For healing with IS Boxer, what I use is Grid + GridCustomLayouts + Clique.
You could also use Healbot or Vuhdo, but I like Grid.
Apparently you can use Grid2 now as GridCustomLayouts is broken, but there is an easy fix provided by deadca7 on dual-boxing

You need to change two lines in the SecureGroupHeadersCopy.lua to:
local nRaid = GetNumGroupMembers();

So you have your addons for healing...
You need an alphabetical sort, so its the same on every window and every character.

Substitute every character you have on all teams (assuming you five-box) in the place of ToonA through ToonE.

In this case, it would be substitute every toon from those respective accounts on a given line.

That gets you, your toons alphabetical in columns 1.
And the rest of the raid in columns 2-8, also alphabetical.

I put a Repeater Region over the entire Grid frame.

If I have one healer, then I would use the Slot the healer is in, as the target of the Repeater Region.
If you have multiple healers on the team, or want to dynamically add/remove healers then use an Action Target Group as the target of the Repeater Region.
Definitely enable KVM/Block Local Click on the Repeater Region, so your DPS doesn't change targets when you're healing.

In Warcraft, open your spell book and go to your healing spells.
On the bottom of the spell book is a new tab for Clique bindings.
When you click on this, any click (including modifier keys) made on the spells you have (heals or not) will be set as mouse click hotkeys for those spells.

You'll also want to go into the options, in Clique and "Blacklist" every frame except for Grid (or Vuhdo/Healbot, if you use those).
That way, you can still right click on someone on your team, to initiate a trade.

For example, I use...

Alt Left = Remove Corruption; Alt Right = Healing Touch
Ctrl Left = Lifebloom; Ctrl Right = Regrowth

This system allows you to heal from any toon on your team, as well as if you were playing the healer directly.
It is not macro based healing at all, but rather choosing the correct heal for the situation.

In effect, you have the benefits of driving with the Healer, but you don't have to drive the healer... you could be on the Tank to position the boss, then switch to the healer, then switch to anyone else... if someone needs a heal, click the appropriate click on their frame.
