Window swapping cause lag

Hi,
Im Multiboxing in WoW with a instant window swapping layout.
Everything worked fine until I recenetly updated the AMD Catalyst Control Center.
Now whenever I switch from one Window to another there is a delay of around 2 seconds until the new window appears.
Anybody know how to solve this problem?

Do you have more than one video card? I recall someone mentioning something about rendering on one card, and displaying on another.

Re: Window swapping cause lag

No, I have just one video card.
Restarting the pc seems to fix the "window swapping lag" for a while but then out of nowhere it returns.
I dont think that its a hardware issue because I dont have any fps drops while playing 5 or 10 chars but as soon as I switch the window there is this 2 second delay.
Im afraid that it has something to do with the recent update of the AMD graphics driver because I never had this lag before the update.

Stupid question, but have you tried reverting to the prior version?

Oh and I'd not install Raptr or AMD Gaming Evovled (whichever they are calling it during the setup).

Re: Window swapping cause lag

If Raptr is currently running, close it to improve performance.

We don't have much to go on as far as the actual issue here. Please provide "Diagnostics for game crashes" (http://isboxer.com/wiki/Diagnostics) from ISBoxer's Help menu, yes even though it is not crashing, and this may help us identify something.

Additionally, sometimes video driver updates/installs can renumber your computer's displays in Windows, and this may mean that ISBoxer is then using the wrong display number, causing performance issues. For this reason, you should also try creating a new Window Layout using the Window Layout Wizard, and see if that helps.

Re: Window swapping cause lag

I uninstalled the Raptr few days ago but sadly it didnt help.
Also made a new wizzard window layout but the "window swapping lag" still happens.
Thats the "Diagnostics for game crashes": http://privatepaste.com/26cdb34a33

About my monitors: I use just one PC monitor for multiboxing but in addition I have a flatscreen connected to the PC for watching movies. The image of the PC monitor is duplicated to the flatscreen. Can it has any impact on the PC performance?
I mean, as long as the flatscreen is turned off there is also nothing to duplicate...

Re: Window swapping cause lag

Nothing too obvious to me, although the below reports as a "Potentially unwanted program" on most AV registries. You may want it.
49. wajam.exe - Process ID: 3780 (C:\Program Files\WajaWebEnhancer\wajam.exe) [Admin:YES] [x86] [1.49.11.9]
50. wajam_64.exe - Process ID: 2240 (C:\Program Files\WajaWebEnhancer\wajam_64.exe) [Admin:YES] [x64] [1.49.11.9]
51. wajam_64.exe - Process ID: 4084 (C:\Program Files\WajaWebEnhancer\wajam_64.exe) [Admin:YES] [x64] [1.49.11.9]

A description of what it does...
The application launches the default Web browser and requests the user to log in to Wajam using their Facebook or Twitter credentials.
If the user does not log in to Wajam, the application may inject a login form into a number of well-known websites.
If Facebook or Twitter credentials are used to login, the application asks for permission to access the user's posts.
The application will display posts from the user's social media contacts whenever a search is carried out on one of the websites.
The application may also display advertisements related to searched keywords.
Advertisements are displayed even if the feature is turned off in the application's setting page.

Back to your other issue of course.
The TV shouldn't cause a problem, but you could test this by running with it turned on and turned off, or unplugged from your computer even, and see if there is any difference in behaviour/performance. The assumption is that you have your TV plugged into the same graphics card as your normal monitor.
When you made your new Window Layout hopefully you didn't select the old one as the basis to start from?. You may also need to delete all old layouts if you notice that the display names (i.e. \\.\DISPLAY1 changes to \\.\DISPLAY4) change between the new layout and your old layouts.
You might considering monitoring to see if your CPU is busy during these times, and which process. It has been known for AV's of varying descriptions to cause problems. Sometimes excluding the game/Innerspace.exe is sufficient to prevent any realtime scanning from interfering. This is only useful if monitoring shows that the AV is increasing processing during the lag times. Sometimes it may be necessary to temporarily uninstalling your AV to determine if it is causing any issue.
You might want to consider reverting the graphics driver to determine if that in fact fixes the swapping lag. If it does, then at least it provides a focal point.

Re: Window swapping cause lag

Thanks for letting me know about this wajam prog. I deleted it straight away.

Now I unplugged/plugged the TV Screen (which is plugged in the same graphic card as my normal monitor) and it seems that it solved the delay problem.
I guess the video driver update messed something up...
Ill let u know if the problem occurs again.
Thank u all for the kindly help.

Re: Window swapping cause lag

I've had problems with this too (AMD card) especially if i clicked on Google Chrome on my other screen and went back to the game. The game would then freeze for up to 1 minute.
I solved this by playing WoW fullscreen instead of windowed.
