HOWTO:Auto-follow upon character switch

From ISBoxer
Jump to: navigation, search

Some people like their characters to automatically follow the new master when swithing windows. Be aware that this can sometimes be troublesome, if you must switch windows but are doing something that auto-follow would interrupt (such as sitting to drink, or casting a spell). However, disabling Key Maps before switching windows will generally avoid this behavior if necessary.

  1. In the top left pane in ISBoxer, under Character Sets, select yours
  2. In the bottom left pane, select a Slot number (1, 2, etc) to apply this behavior to (all of them, one at a time?)
  3. In the bottom right pane, in the Switching tab, find the "Do this Mapped Key" option
  4. In the Key Map drop-down box, select the 'Non-combat' Key Map that is assigned to your team as listed in the bottom left pane under Key Maps (it may be prefixed)
  5. In the Mapped Key drop-down box, select the 'Follow Me' Mapped Key

Special note for World of Warcraft players

For World of Warcraft, the Always On Key Map has custom mappings for this option, supporting the Jamba Addon for World of Warcraft. If you use Jamba Addon or may in the future, it will probably be a good idea to use the "JambaMaster/Follow" Mapped Key in the "Always On" Key Map instead of "Follow Me" under "Non-combat".
