I have spent way too much time already trying different things to get it to work, all to no avail.

Sorry, but unless I can duplicate your issue which is caused by some software installed on your PC, I can't solve your particular problem. Nobody else is reporting an issue similar to yours. You said you don't want to spend any more time trying to get it to work and you don't want me to keep trying to help you, so why flood the forums with posts like this ;)

Re: Siege of Mirkwood doesn't like Innerspace/ISBoxer

I'm still having issues.

Win-Vista 64 OS

I've copied the lotro folder and pointed my additional character via ISBoxer to the new directory.

Everytime I launch my character set via Innerspace the first client launches fine, but its like I launched it via desktop vs Innerspace. I can play the game fine, but it doesn't shrink to my region, it doesn't launch the additional client, I dont even get the text in the top left hand corner during launch that innerspace is running and controlling the first client.

Any further help or corrections to my 'work-around' would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

1. Make sure the game is in Direct3D9 mode (not Direct3D10)
2. Make sure you are on Inner Space build 5070 or later. You can check this by hovering over the icon (where you right click to launch the character set). If you're on Inner Space build 5039, you need to switch to the development (test) build. Just check the box in the IS Patcher window (right click, select Patcher, check the box that says Download development patches, close and restart IS and wait for it to patch itself)

If both of those are taken care of you should see the FPS indicator in the upper left when you launch the game, and ISBoxer should work fine.

Re: Siege of Mirkwood doesn't like Innerspace/ISBoxer

Thanks for the quick response Lax.

I double checked to make sure It was Dx9, it is.
I'm currently using innerspace 1.09 (Build 5074)

I also updated to the Dev kit while trying to previously correct my issues. I do not see the FPS or anything for that matter when launching my client via Innerspace.

Any other suggestions?
Thank you!

*Update*

Just to be sure of everything on my end I did the following:
-Re-Install of .Net Framework SP1
-Un-installed Turbine Download Manager (because the last time Innerspace was launching I wasn't using TDM)
-Fresh install of both Innerspace and ISBoxer

I get the FPS when I launch! :D

I do get the patch error thing identified on previous pages, so I'll start back tracking to find a fix for that. Thank you again!

ISBoxer is now working for me. :) :) Hoorraaaay... Thanks for the suggestion about checking running programs Lax.

I am running win 7 pro and mcafee beta. It turns out the Site Advisor in Mcafee interferes in some fashion with ISBoxer and causes the LOTRO launcher to throw an exception error on startup. I turned in a bug report to Mcafee.

Now, off to figure out how to send key depressions to the inactive window.

Thanks for the information guys. I've added a note about the Download Manager to the Troubleshooting Lord of the Rings Online with ISBoxer guide.

Okay I have combed through the posts here and i still have the same issue the 2nd instance never loads and the first instance just launches normal. I do not even get the name or fps in white when it launches. Anyone else still having this problem?

The most common causes for this are:
#1. Game is in Direct3D10 mode. It should be in Direct3D9 mode.
#2. Not using the Development (test) build of Inner Space. If you hover over the IS icon in the system tray (the one you right click to launch your character set) and it says build 5039 (or any number below 5070 or so), you do not have a new enough build of Inner Space. To fix this, right click the IS icon in the system tray, select Patcher, check "Download development (test) patches", close and restart IS.
#3. LOTRO launcher is already running. If IS tries to launch it and it's already running, the game is just going to launch like normal and ISBoxer is not going to be able to do anything. Make sure it's not running.
#4. Turbine Download Manager is enabled. Make sure you're running the full game client and TDM is disabled

If any of the above are true, it will probably show the described behavior, e.g. "No FPS indicator"

I know for sure lotro is not aleady running. My isbuild is 5079, Turbine Download manager is not installed on my computer, and DirectX 10 is not checked under graphics properties is there something else that needs to happen for directx 9?
