WoW server login problem

I have tried searching but found nothing like my problem.

I am using the trial. 3 WoW accounts on 1 PC.
I used the WoW quick setup wizard, all default settings.

ISBoxer launches the 3 windows fine. I type in all my passwords. All the passwords verify but then only 1 account will progress to the character select screen, the other two hang. It is not always the same account that hangs.

Even after I close the programs, if I relaunch WoW by itself and try to log into one of the hung accounts, I get the same thing. After about a half hour or so I can log back into the accounts.

Just to be sure, I logged into all three accounts at the same time on this PC without ISBoxer with no problems.

Any ideas? If I can get this working I will most likely upgrade my ISBoxer account.

Oh, almost forgot, no firewall and no AV software of any kind. Win7.

Are you leaving your key maps enabled when you are typing in your passwords?

Re: WoW server login problem

Something weird is happening, for sure. I got locked out of logging into my accounts once because my kid was banging on my keyboard and must have input a wrong password several times. I had to wait a couple of hours before it would let me log into the game or even into battle.net. I wonder if something like that is happening to you.

The only other interaction that ISBoxer has with anything to do with logging in is the config.wtf file, or the virtual ones that you create. Do you have the correct account names and account names selected when you are creating your team? I'm thinking that your config.wtf file might be telling WoW to try to load a character that is actually on another account. This could happen if you have two characters with similar names, or if you moved a character from one account to the other, but kept the same character name. It could then be listed under two different accounts, and selecting the wrong one could potentially cause weirdness.

I bet that is it. I don't have time to check it out right now but the first time I set ISBoxer up I may have messed up the names/accounts. My 7 day trial is over, so I will have to subscribe to check your theory. Thanks for the help! If you or anyone could tell me exactly what config file(s) I need to fix, that would be great.

You can check that in ISBoxer, assuming you used the Quick Setup Wizard. Select each Character in the top pane of ISBoxer (under Characters), and look at the Account and Sub-account names. The "Account" name is the battle.net e-mail, and Sub-account name is the WoW account name. For WoW accounts named "WoW1" "WoW2" and so on, the account names are actually numbers like 435435789#1 and 435435789#2. These are correct and should *not* be changed to WoW1, WoW2, etc. The first number is apparently related to your battle.net account, and the second number is the WoW account number on it, to make WoW1, WoW2, and so on. ISBoxer knows this and will use WoW1, WoW2, etc instead where it is appropriate.

Anyway, assuming you used the Quick Setup Wizard, most of that should already be filled in. ISBoxer will verify the information (if it is filled in) against your WoW config files and prompt you if they need to be corrected.

Re: WoW server login problem

Okay, frustrated now. Bought the 90 day subscription, reconfigured the names, still does not work.

Server login locked again on 2 accounts. I deleted the WTF folder and I was able to log in again immediately (without ISBoxer) on all 3 accounts, so I figured something was hosed in there. Set up ISBoxer again, tried logging in, again locked out on 2 accounts.

Deleted WTF again and now I still can't login even without ISBoxer. Something is definitely messed up and I do not know what to try next.

Re: WoW server login problem

You're not using multiple characters on the same WoW account, right?

Re: WoW server login problem

Right, 3 separate accounts. I am able to log into all 3 at once without ISBoxer

Re: WoW server login problem

So you enter your password a single time in the game, and then it says you're locked out? What does it say you're locked out for?

p.s. This might be a little quicker if you want to come to the ISBoxer Chat Room
