Corrupt Virtual Files (DAoC)

Hi,

One of my game clients crashed for some reason, and when I loaded it again, all UI/sound/graphics settings had reverted back to default. Apparently, the user.dat file for that character was corrupted in the crash. Is there any way to replace the corrupt user.dat file with one from another character that wasn't affected?

Thanks.

Re: Corrupt Virtual Files (DAoC)

If you delete the file (from the file system, not in ISBoxer), then when you next start the character set, the game will recreate the file. You could also, after deleting the corrupt file, copy the user.dat file, and rename it along the way to user-charname.dat (this would be the default of the "virtual" file).

Re: Corrupt Virtual Files (DAoC)

Thanks, I deleted everything with the character's name in \AppData\Roaming\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\LotM, made copies of another character's settings, and then changed the name of the copies to that of the messed up character. Worked great!
