Launch delay

Hi,

Was wondering if there is any possibility to disable the lanuch delay for a character set, is there an option to have this active or not?

Best regards,
Val

Re: Launch delay

You can set the delay to zero, but the next instance only starts when the previous 3-D window is active and ready.

There is no way to simultaneously have multiple instances launching at the exact same time with ISBoxer.

<EDIT> Clarification, and you can see the option in ISBoxer in the image on this page: http://isboxer.com/wiki/Character_Set

Not strictly true.

The limitation to 1 at a time comes down to the game launch process, and whether that launch process will allow you to have multiple games/launchers started at the same time. Most LAUNCHERS do not allow you to have multiple instances running at the same time. Some games, where you can bypass the launcher, may allow you to have multiple instances open at the same time prior to you having logged in. IIRC WOW allows this if you use the "wow.exe" or "wow-64.exe" to start, rather than "World of Warcraft Launcher.exe" or Battle.NET.

Mind you, even then it is usually a good idea to have a small delay between the game instances popping up to prevent potential contention issues.

edit; ok, it is kinda true as the minimum appears to be 1 second.

You still need the 3-D window initialized by Inner Space and injected fully before Inner Space will launch another one.

<edit> not strictly true either, Inner Space would do it, but ISBoxer needs to be initialized after Inner Space initializes the window to avoid those mentioned contention issues, thus the delay is required for ISBoxer.

Re: Launch delay

ISBoxer requires this behavior in order to ensure that each game instance gets the right numbers. This was an early design decision for ISBoxer, and it is integral to many different parts of ISBoxer.

ISBoxer 2 (now in Alpha) is designed differently from the get-go. Launching can be simultaneous with ISBoxer 2. MiRai made a video that is highly relevant to this thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvPUtGsgRQA
