Voyage Century graphics issue

I've used ISBoxer successfully for several games but now I'm having some problems with Voyage Century Online, an older DX8 game. Most everything works great but even at lowest level of display settings the graphics eventually become flakey. Primarily the background textures stop rendering and most of the background just goes a wavy blue. I've tried all the combinations of resolutions and swapping settings I can think of with no change and even running one client at native resolution in a single pane windows layout has the same problem. It isn't a big issue as I'm happy the game works at all since it is so old but if anyone has any hints or suggestions to share then it would be appreciated.

Re: Voyage Century graphics issue

Yeah I suppose it doesn't surprise me too much that a DX8 game has some issues -- there aren't many current DX8 games for me to test with, and so my code is not as up to date for DX8 as it is for DX9 and DX11. I will look into it and see what I can find out.

In the meantime I'm not sure that a graphics level or resolution will make a big difference here but you might try playing with the game's fullscreen/windowed setting. I would suspect if the game is set to windowed mode it will have better behavior, but it could go either way. If you haven't tried this setting, do it :)

Re: Voyage Century graphics issue

Thank you, I switched to windowed clients, stacked on one monitor and viewing them all in DxNothing on second monitor. Controlling the clients via DxNothing pane instead of swapping reduced the problems quite a bit. It isn't perfect but is very usable.
