ISBoxer stopped sending keymaps

Hello,

I appreciate any help I can get. I had ISBoxer working fine, and then I started adding new keymaps (F1-F12, Shift F1-F3, Shift 1-4, Q, E, R, F & G)

Then suddenly everything stopped working. My follow wont work, assist wont work. The only thing that works in shift alt I to invite everyone.

I have my keymaps on and broadcast off. Broadcast works fine.

I have deleted, uninstalled and recreated via the wizard both ISBoxer and Innerspace. I then proceed to start up the game with vanilla settings and follow etc STILL wont work.

I am completely at a loss here.

I tried to use the privatepaste website so I could upload my profile but its down. Right now I am still just trying to get the vanilla settings to work but to no avail.

Im also using Jamba but I havent touched the settings in it since I initially installed it and it was working fine. I do have other addons Im using but once again nothing new since ISBoxer stopped working. It was fuinctioning fine with everything.

PLEASE help. Ive already wasted 6 days of my RAF trying to troubleshoot this through the setup toutorials and youtube videos but Im at the pooint where Im not making any progress.

For real, probably should have asked sooner if you spent 6 days trying to get it to work again.


However, if you started from a cleared profile and used the Quick Setup Wizard, left everything more or less default before actually testing it, and follow/assist are not working ... then it's probably not an ISBoxer configuration issue (if you went in and changed hotkeys, wow macros, etc that is different).

It sounds more like this issue: FAQ: I recently set a key binding in the game and now assist doesn't work?.

The "common solution" mentions un-binding Shift+Backspace for fixing assist, but you'd want to make sure Shift+Backspace, Alt+Backspace, Ctrl+Backspace, Ctrl+Shift+Backspace etc are not assigned. If you have anything assigned to Shift+Backspace, your toons will be unable to assist Slot 1 or 2. Ctrl+Backspace will block assisting Slot 3. Alt+Backspace will block assisting Slot 4. Ctrl+Shift+Backspace will block assisting Slot 5.

This doesn't usually happen with follow, because follow is not usually added to random Mapped Keys like Assist is. But for Follow you want to check for Shift+F11, Alt+F11, Ctrl+F11, Ctrl+Shift+F11, etc. If you have anything assigned to Shift+F11, your toons will be unable to follow Slot 1 or 2. Ctrl+F11 will block following Slot 3. Alt+F11 will block following Slot 4. Ctrl+Shift+F11 will block following Slot 5.


If that doesn't help, share your configuration and we'll make sure you're not breaking

Thanks for the advice Lax. Im going to try and use what I am reading in the wiki and see if that helps out. As far as anything bound to back space or shift/alt etc on F11 I made sure I have nothing. It really sounds like the scenario of having keymapping on while creating keybinds and exporting them is what my problem is. Gonna thoroughly check that out after dinner.

Really appreciate you taking time to help out. And yeah I know I should have reached out earlier for help but I got all stubborn and kept fiddling with everything. I think Ive logged over 24 hours of game time on my five man team and Ive only dinged level 10 haahah...hah.

Ok, so, I blew everything away that was ISBoxer related and reinstalled.

Ran the quick setup wizard, exported and then started making a few keymaps.

Went into the game, tested to see if they worked and they did!

My mistake appears to have been creating new keymaps in ISBoxer while wow was loaded with keymapping on. So, by creating my keymaps in ISBoxer, then exporting, then launching WoW to test, everything works out perfectly.

You should be able to set Mapped Keys, and Key Maps in ISBoxer, and Export and them take effect immediately, without having to shutdown all your game clients. If you couldn't it would make changes tedious.

The only thing you need to be wary of is setting In-Game keybinds (like WOW keybinds). When you do this, you need to disable Key Maps while you do so, otherwise you can inadvertently set your new in game keybind to something other than what you are expecting, especially when one of the values you are using as an in-game bind is being used as a hotkey in ISBoxer (this is because ISboxer might be doing multiple things on that hotkey and the game accepts only the first thing it receives, which may not be the keypress you were actually hitting).

With WOW and ISBoxer, there is an additional item. If you change the Game Helper - World of Warcraft macro set, then you need to do a "/console reloadui" in game after export. This is to get it to reload the new version of the ISBoxer Addon.

It must have been me setting the WOW in game keybinds while having keymapping on then that caused the issue.

Im too scared to test this theory out but it sounds about right.
