Key Bind Question

Hello:

Goal: Hit the 1 key on the main screen and have Shift-1 sent to the healing slave screen with that same keystroke.

Purpose: 1) To not mess up my UI to the point that it takes a long time to refigure should I want to use either toon not multi-boxed. 2) To have healer spam his dps keys when I am spamming tank/dps keys.

Current Set Up: Completely standard from quick set up except for 2 self created keybinds to simultaneously mount/dismount and open all bags.
Jamba installed. 2 Toons, Warrior and Druid. Using VuhDo with repeater regions set up; works perfectly.

My Knowldge Level: just started a couple of days ago. Have spent 4 or 5 hours browsing forums and experimenting to figure this particular problem out. Completely unsuccessful.

Note: Val offered a tenative solution that I didn't quite grasp before I accidentally closed the irc.

Thanks for any assistance anyone may have.

Friday.

Re: Key Bind Question

You would need to open the Toolkit.

Expand Keymaps in the top pane.
Click on the FTL DPS Keymap, in the top pane.

Click on the DPS 1 mapped key, in the left pane.
Expand that, and click the "1" under Steps.

In the right pane, we have Actions.
The current action should read:
- Do Mapped Key, FTL Assist Me, Target: Current Window
- Send "1" to all windows.

You would modify this a little, change it so:
- Either keep or discard the Mapped Key action (depending on whether you want the slave/healer to acquire the master/tank's target)
- Modify the target of the Keystroke action, so it only sends the "1" to the first character.
- Right click on Actions >> Keystroke Actions >> Key Action >> Press 1 and Shift together as the Key Action >> Set the Healer as the Target.

You could also have the warrior/tank DPS stuff on two keys.
Say "1" and "2".

And have a healer macro on "1", but not on 2.
And have a DPS Healer macro on "2" only.

So you spam "1" if you want them to both kill things.
Or "2" if you want the healer to heal stuff.

You also said you have a repeater region set up fine.
If you heal via clicking, you probably don't even need a Heal type macro on one of the keys.

Re: Key Bind Question

Thank you very much for your response and guide. Your guide has been in the tab set since I started, however I must admit to density overload when I read it, no doubt due to early onset ateriosclerosos (or not so early).

I'm actually thinking that the easy way to accomplish my goal is to install another full instance of WoW and use the second install for non-multiboxing. this would solve my problems and allow me to apply more standard solutions to the dual boxing.

Your effort and willingness to share your expertise is appreciated.

Re: Key Bind Question

You don't really gain anything through another install of the game.

Your macros, spells on action bars and such are stored server side.
And IS Boxer virtualizes your config.wtf files, so you can have different settings on a per character basis, with the one install.

One thing I like about IS Boxer is preserving toons for solo play.
For example, my Shammies can all have Thunderstorm on the "0" key.
If I one-box any of them, and want TS I just press "0".
However, when I box, IS Boxer has that key on round-robin.
So pressing once sends the keystroke to Shm A, another press to Shm B.

You could create macros entirely within IS Boxer, which you use for boxing.
They would exist if you launch the game through IS Boxer.
But wouldn't be there for when you launch with wow.exe
