USB 7" touchscreen monitor + dxnothing

Has anyone tried doing a full-screen dxnothing window on a USB monitor? I thought it would be cool to have a 7" touchscreen with videofx streams so that you can perform actions quickly on a pad beside your mouse.

Not sure if the performance would be there though

Nope, but I use a Surface Pro2 (hey, when I'm not travelling it don't do much) as a multi computer setup with a Menu that then runs mapped keys that do things on the main setup (this is actually trickier than you think to configure, plugged into my main computer would make the menu so much easier to direct).

If I was going down the monitor route, I'd get a HDMI/DisplayPort connected one, rather than USB as the USB tend to be resistive touch, rather than capacitive touch. Resistive touch are the old school ones which tended to be single touch only and not very sensitive. Good for ham fisted POS terminal users though, so maybe it is the way to go :).

I honestly don't think that running a USB monitor would work all that well since I imagine it'd be running off of software rather than hardware, and things that are rendered with software tend to result in pretty shitty performance.

It's a cool idea, though.

Yep. Someone was asking on chat the other day too (edit: whoops, no they weren't, it was something I suggested to someone else). I found these monitors which would work reasonably well.

The 7inch ones are less pretty, but these might just be too big.
