unable to start ISBoxer toolkit

Hi,
I am now unable to start ISBoxer toolkit. I tried reinstalling, but it wont help. Running Win 8.1, with the latest dev patches enabled.

When I start ISboxer tookit, I get a windows error:
Error parsing
C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.05727\config\machine.config

Parser returned error 0xC00E556

Ive been running the software under win8 just fine, the problem apparently only appeared when I upgraded to win 8.1

any help would be great !

The issue is with .NET, reinstalling ISBoxer wont change this issue

You should be able to use the Windows Control Panel to resolve the issue -- from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh506443%28v=vs.110%29.aspx:
In Control Panel, choose Programs and Features, choose Turn Windows features on or off, and then select the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) check box. This option requires an Internet connection. You do not need to select the child items for Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) HTTP activation

hey lax and thanks for the fast reply.

I should have mentioned, this was the first thing I tried, still no dice. I get a ton of error messages, I cant copy paste it but essentially it says:

system configuration error, configuration system failed to initialize root element is missing

in another window

error loading (filepath)inner space.xml

and another

Inner Space Game Configuration was unable to be loaded from the selected inner space folder. you will not be able to select a game or profile for a character until ISBoxer toolkit can ream them from your inner space configuration. please make sure that inner space has your game configured


I checked, the gameconfiguration.xml is in the folder but apparently ISBoxer cant read it?

ISBoxer can't begin to read the Inner Space XML files because .NET is unable to read its machine.config file. It is indicating that C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\machine.config has no root element -- this file may be corrupt.

You should be able to replace it with the machine.config.default file that is found in the same folder.
