Using 2 PC's with WOW?

I have followed the guide http://isboxer.com/wiki/HOWTO:Use_ISBox ... _Computers in order to setup my 2 accounts on different computers.

They are 2 separated accounts on the same bnet account and I am able to login manually to both just fine.

After following the above guide I was able to make both PC's open the game, I found out that in order to input my password I need to use SHIFT+ALT+M and I am able to input my password.

I also found not sure if this is normal that I need to run on the REPEATER for keyboard in order for my password to get typed on the slave PC, is that right or was it something wrong I have done?

My mouse is does not seem to work on the other PC however I was still able to hit ENTER so it logs in.

On Master PC i have 1920x1200 and on Slave PC I have 1680x1050 is it possible that this is affecting the mouse clicks ?

Is there a way to fix this without losing my ability to use other programs on the master computer? For example I often open the browser and do other things while playing...

I haven't test in game yet as I have not get everything to work yet such as the mouse, would love some guidance to solve my mouse issue or screen issue.

Yes, that is standard procedure to log in as discussed in the WoW: Quick Start Guide and the WoW: Quicker Start Guide.

My mouse is does not seem to work on the other PC

What does happen? "Does not seem to work" could be anything. What are you attempting to do? If you wish to click on something in WoW at the same time on both PCs, then use Repeater, as above. If you are trying to move the mouse on the 2nd PC independently, then the easiest option at this stage is to use a software KVM solution such as Input Director. There are probably ways of doing this in ISBoxer too, but I don't use 2 PCs, so won't be much help there sorry - you could try using the Mapped Key Wizard to make a Broadcasting Toggler which only broadcasts to the other PC and blocks clicks locally.

Re: Using 2 PC's with WOW?

With the help of bob at the IRC channel I've manged to get most of it done, Mouse is working keyboard is working.

Now what I have realized is that I should not use movements on repeater nor use the mouse to move the window or click quests as it will most likely not be at the same place most of the time however for using skills it should be fine.

I am currently looking into jamba for following and other things would you guys recommend me any addon that is good when using ISBoxer?

Also do I have to disable the WASDQE keys and arrows keys to prevent it from repeating?

Re: Using 2 PC's with WOW?

You really should go and read the whole of both pages I linked in my previous post as they will answer many of your questions and you will be up and running sooner than trying to get answers at a remove here. Watch the videos too.

Nevertheless, you should be using the Follow Hotkey (Alt+F by default) set up by ISBoxer's Quick Setup Wizard and not attempting to move your team using Repeater. You can blacklist those keys in your Repeater Profile but I would not recommend it.

Jamba is very useful, but I would recommend learning how to do things with ISBoxer first, then adding in Jamba as the need arises. For example, while you can use Jamba to get your team to follow you, you would be duplicating a capability of ISBoxer.

Re: Using 2 PC's with WOW?

I am using repeater because using 2 PC's the keys were not being sent to the other PC without it, and I no I didn't want it to move independently I was not aware movements would not work well that was prior I ever went inside the game I was just trying to make every thing work out.

By the keys I mean all keys not just 1 to = I couldn't use any letters even with the Key Map off(SHIFT+ALT+M) until I turned repeater for keyboard on.

Multiple Computers require the use of custom ATGs. There is an overview here as well as appropriate links to the wiki. Disregard the EverQuest references. ATGs, their use and function are the same regardless of the game.

You don't typically need your entire keyboard to pass to all windows, except when you need to actually type the same thing (like in the chat window) in all windows -- pretty rare in my experience. That's when you press Shift+Alt+R to pass those things, and then press it again to turn it back off. Same with clicking through NPC dialogs like quest accept/complete, just turn it on temporarily and then turn it back off.

You usually want only specific things to happen when you press specific keys -- like 1 through = being attacks you want to auto-assist and broadcast. Set up more specific keys for your other in-game Hotkeys using the Mapped Key Wizard, under the Wizards menu. Use Auto-follow (Alt+F by default) to move your characters together

Re: Using 2 PC's with WOW?

Hi Lax,

Yes my goal was not to broadcast all keys and stuff I am still learning how to set it up, but for example, to enter my credentials to log in it only worked when I 1) disabled the mapped keys 2) enabled the repeater but if there is a different way to archive that on multiple PCs kindly let me know.

This topic was all prior I finally got inside the game to test everything which was when I found out that I would not want all keys or mouse to be broadcasted as it would not be as useful for instance I surely don't want all the accounts to pm the same person with the same message LOL.

I've also seen that there is an addon from isbroker which I am yet to try, I will run more tests later on and see how far I can get.

I don't really want it to do much, to put it simple these are the basic things I want to do:

1) Accept party invite from registered users
2) Auto talk to NPC's to get quests the master account gets ( not sure if there is an automated way or addon for this one)
3) follow
4) assist

These are the mainly functions I will be trying to set up either with macros or addon. I think for the quest thing I will have to make my own macro something like check if its an npc or monster if npc get quests if not assist.

Re: Using 2 PC's with WOW?

1) Accept party invite from registered users

This is built into the Jamba Addon if you want to use that. In any other game or without Jamba, just turn on Mouse Broadcasting temporarily to click it.

2) Auto talk to NPC's to get quests the master account gets ( not sure if there is an automated way or addon for this one)

To open up the NPC window use Interact with Target. (Yep, info in the Quicker Start Guide http://isboxer.com/wiki/WoW:Quicker_Start_Guide under "There is no Part 8", and in the WoW Quick Start Guide, and demonstrated in the video, etc.)

To click in the same spot in all of the quest windows once it's open, use Mouse Broadcasting; alternatively the Jamba Addon will accept quests and select the same reward if you want.

3) follow

Alt+F

4) assist

Alt+A, also built into various DPS buttons including the default 1 through =

I think for the quest thing I will have to make my own macro something like check if its an npc or monster if npc get quests if not assist.

Highly recommend watching one of the WoW Quick Start videos. Literally everything is explained in my WoW walkthrough video which is in the quick starts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HvsGXzfi3xU. You don't have to make any macros, if you're thinking about making macros you've missed the guides and videos that demonstrate it

Re: Using 2 PC's with WOW?

Hi Lax,

I am going thru everything as I go into it.

I have set up the IWT which is working managed to get broadcast off and get all working now.

I am still having a few doubts which I haven't found answer to for example, I am using a hunter and a pally (slave), when I attack a target, the pally does broadcast the keys and the ranged spells to hit however it does not move to the target on assist, am I missing something I may have overlooked or do I need to trigger my IWT key all the time I start a fight or something too?

I am still not using jamba yet just ISBoxer addon and functions for the moment to get the most out of it.
