No Genera screen under Key Maps

Well, despite getting the blue screens of death, being a clutz on a compter, and this software obviously written for someone with more computer savvy than myself I figured what the heck and invested fifteen dollars. I sure like the concept but the implementation is not fun whatsoever. Just saying so you know how a noob like me sees it. Hopefully you can continue to automate more steps for guys like me.

Anyway, I looked at the video a couple of times, trying to figure what you mean on your Interact With Target video guide, as well as the written guide in ISBoxer itself. I can set the Interact With Target key in WoW to G fine, thanks.

However the next step where both the written and video guides say to click "General" under Key Maps. The problem is, there is no General under Key Maps in ISBoxer. There is: Always On, Combat, Non Combat and Variable. If I click Variable I do see an Interact with Target line. I set the Alt V there but it does not work in game. Because there is no General etc. I think I can never get to the part where I delete etc. that shows the rest of the steps. I would like to set up interact with Target as if I cant do that the program is not much use for me.

Thanks

Thank you. Might want to update that. Please remember most of us have zero clue on this, so when its wrong on the instructions it totally stops us most of the time imho.

Happy to, unless you mean MiRai's IWT video in which case he can add some annotations. Just link me to where you found General.

The IWT wiki page already says Non-combat -- WoW: Interact with Target

If someone has YouTube annotations enabled then they would see the top portion (it stays on the screen for 20 seconds), but just in case they don't, I also put it right at the top of the description in all capital letters and 3 identical links to the updated Wiki page just in case. I added both of those quite some time ago and there's only so much I can do until a new video is made.

Re: No Genera screen under Key Maps

After setting up the key binding in the game (really, please do that first to avoid confusion), you will need to tell ISBoxer what key combination that is, and set up a Hotkey in ISBoxer itself, to perform the broadcast:

In the top pane in ISBoxer, select General under Key Maps
In the bottom left pane, click on Interact with Target
In the bottom right pane, at the top, is a Hotkey option. Click the < to pick a Hotkey. It can be the same key combo you selected in the game, but I personally use Alt+G instead of just G. This allows me to type using the G without having to turn the Key Map off first
In the top pane, select Variable Keystrokes
In the bottom left pane, select Interact with Target under Variable Keystrokes
In the bottom right pane, at the top, is a Default Key Combination option. Click the < to pick a Key Combination. Note: this must be the same as the key configured in the game for Interact with Target.
After you Export again and ISBoxer reloads the configuration in the game, your new IWT key should work. Target an NPC and press the new hotkey, and your characters should all interact with it.

The text above is from ISBoxer itself. At least the version I am using. Thanks for your patience and I am trying lol... I saw the video on youtube. When I saw it on the same ISBoxer as I am using I already had it bookmarked and did not see the text on the video that is actually on ISBoxer. Murphy's law.

I got quite discouraged and quit trying. I came here and saw this. Thanks for the LINK!! I printed it out and will try it tomorrow when I have more confidence in my noobish computer abilities.

thanks again,
Peace, love and hippy-dippy ftw.

Okay, so that was pasted from http://isboxer.com/wiki/WoW:Quick_Start_Guide. Thanks, I replaced the word General. ;)

Re: No Genera screen under Key Maps

JOY!!!

Oh my gosh!

I got it!! Been busy but had time to slow down today. The guide you linked was very easy. Thanks!

So.... I went out with two toons to an easy part of Dread Waste and first thing I stopped to get a green tea eaf on my sub rogue. I had my warrior still on his flying mount above (aside... I LOVE the follow. Unlike ingame where it often stops following when flying for some reason, ISBoxer keeps them close at all times. No idea why but it does lol!)

So.... I land my rogue on a small rock and jump off the mount. Warrior is right above, flying. A Dread Stalker (gray and white level 90 tiger) comes charging at my rogue as he is getting the herb. I hit Alt V (I use G for targeting) and bang! Here comes a 512 fury warrior on the little cat. I backed the rogue off and let the warrior gank him lol. Then I hit the V again after targeting the corpse and the warrior opens it and gets the loot!

Lol just happened so I had to come say thanks again!

Some things to work on, like putting Alt V on my G13 for one key stuff, but at first I wanted to try with the ole trusty keyboard.

I appreciate very much the help!!
