Interact with target automatically with npcs, loot, etc

Having trouble finding something like this for Rift, I want to right click a npc for a quest or a mobs carcass to loot, etc. Is there a simple guide/tut? Looking all of last night and everything about targeting I find is about WoW lol. I have the interact and assist for casting ability skills etc. Just need the NPC/MOB IWT functions.

Yes, I demonstrated how to set it up and use it in my latest walkthrough video for RIFT: http://youtu.be/hsh3Z-01JXw

Re: Interact with target automatically with npcs, loot, etc

I re downloaded a fresh ISBoxer and I have no mapped keys. I need those to configure some settings with the quick setup wizard? I've uninstalled several times and reinstalled 13 times, I'm sitting here at a loss. This is becoming beyond frustrating. All I wanted in the first place was a simple reply for an auto interaction function for looting/NPC quest accepting. Now I'm back to square one, huge waste of time for me. Seriously, please help me. I'm pretty new to this. I don't want a copy/pasted link, I want some actual help please.

... I don't know how you can watch that video and not come out with everything in the video not working, nor how showing you a video that completely demonstrates A to Z how to get started with ISBoxer and have what you're asking for is not "actual help". Most people are super happy with that, but you're just deciding being a dick to the guy that's trying to help you. I don't get it.

Unless you use the Quick Setup Wizard, you have a blank configuration, indeed with "no mapped keys". Why you would want to set it up without having used the Quick Setup Wizard is beyond me, but if you insist.

Step 1. Make a macro in the game with the command /interact. (@ 11:15 in the video since I make this macro AFTER using the Quick Setup Wizard.)
Step 2. If you used the Quick Setup Wizard like a reasonable person would have done, and used either of the MMO configuration styles (e.g. the one selected by default) then the only remaining things are to set a Hotkey for "Interact with Target" Mapped Key in Non-combat Key Map (@ 5:20 in the video) and, if you didn't set it in the Game Key Bindings during the Wizard (@ 4:15 in the video), then set it under Variable Keystrokes instead.

If you didn't use the Quick Setup Wizard and therefore have neither the Variable Keystrokes nor the Key Maps, then first create a new Key Map and assign it to your Character Set, and then use the Mapped Key Wizard (from the Wizards menu) to set up either a "Key Re-Map" (it will ask you a Hotkey to press and what key to send to the game, in what windows) or a "Straight Key Broadcast" (which will let you set up a lot of keys at once, that just send the same key you press).

If you need more instruction on something just ask. No attitude needed.

Re: Interact with target automatically with npcs, loot, etc

I'm sorry if I came across as an ass, it was never my intention too, just a little frustrated. My fault.

So the first time I downloaded this software, I had "Key Maps" and inside those key maps drop down box were, in this order I believe, Always On, Combat, and Non-combat. And right below it was Variable Keystrokes which also when clicked had additional functions you could setup. My new installation doesn't have any of that. You are saying I don't necisarilly need those default key maps or variable keystrokes too begin with and if I just follow your instructions below I will be good too go? So after I have finished the setup wizard I will have those default key maps and variable keystrokes available?

Thank you for helping me out, once again sorry for the attitude, when I get home ill try this, quick q though straight key broadcast and key re-map are pretty much the same?

You want the default Key Maps because they are extremely helpful; there's no getting started as a newbie without them. You should use the Quick Setup Wizard -- which creates the Key Maps and Variable Keystrokes -- and do what I said in the upper instructions. (Again, the same thing I demonstrated piece by piece in the video...)

Straight Key Broadcast sends the same key you press, to whichever window(s). Key Re-Map lets you pick a Hotkey for you to press, and a different key combo to send to whichever window(s). That is the only difference between them.

Re: Interact with target automatically with npcs, loot, etc

Ok everything seems to be fine, assist works on mobs, looting, and npcs. Follow works, and interact works. Just two more questions about assist and interacting and ill be out of your hair :P. It seems very tedious too press alt a to assist over and over again, how do I make it automatic? Same with interacting, how do I make that automatic so I don't have to press the key over and over?

Regarding "automatic interacting" I don't know what you want to do to activate it when, exactly. ISBoxer can't just detect that you targeted something and you want everyone to /interact, you have to initiate the action; it can potentially be tied to something you're doing, but it's not going to happen just by clicking on a mob.

Regarding assist, you CAN put "auto-assist" on your DPS keys, however it is far more difficult to set up and requires you to set up an /assist macro in the game, for each of your Characters (or at least the ones you want to /assist). You most likely can't put assist on your DPS keys when using the "Target player first, then assist him" method (using the Targeting table like my video). You can try it I guess, but I'd warn you that it will be unreliable. It might be easiest just to pick a more convenient Hotkey for you to hit to assist.

If you're using the Standard Menu for your Action Bar, then it's pretty simple to try out auto-assist on your 1 through = keys, by switching it from the "Standard Broadcast" Button Set to the "Standard Assist+Broadcast" Button Set. To do so, go in the top left pane under Menus and select Standard; then in the bottom right pane there's a drop-down box for Button Set, and by default it will be set to "Standard Broadcast" -- set it to "Standard Assist+Broadcast" the Export to Inner Space. Then see if it automatically assists or not.
