G-Shift on Logitech G600 Mouse

Using the Logitech software, you can assign a key combination to each of the buttons on the mouse.

Quite a few of the reviews mentioned using the G-Shift key, as the hot key to enable voice transmission for Ventrilo.
That is done by setting a keybind for the G-Shift key, which is then sent when the key is pushed.

I have disabled the Logitech software and am using the mouse buttons as hot keys for IS Boxer actions.
Basically instant-swap between my 10 regions, plus my FTL Follow and Spread Out keys, for the 12 buttons on the side.

So two questions:
a) Which G600-G1 through G600-G20 key corresponds to the G-Shift key?
G600-G9 through G600-G20 are on the side of the mouse, so presumably it is one of the lower numbers.

b) Since IS Boxer is not launching Ventrilo, is there any way I can have it send a keystroke that Ventrilo will recognize as the Push_To_Talk key?

See instructions for buttontest.iss to find out names for any particular button you have: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=675

No, ISBoxer can't send Ventrilo a signal at the moment. However, you can still program your G600 to send your Ventrilo PTT keystroke, just not through ISBoxer. For example, use the Logitech software to configure G20 (or whatever) to send your PTT key combo and then just don't use either of those as a Hotkey in ISBoxer (unless you want it double-bound).

Re: G-Shift on Logitech G600 Mouse

So if I have the Logitech software running, but every G-Key that IS Boxer uses is blank within the Logitech software...
There are no conflicts between the two, and they can run in conjunction?

I'm also using the M1/M2/M3 as toggles for broadcasting modes.
With light actions, to show if a mode is on or off.
Key Broadcasting, Mouse Broadcasting and Keymaps...

If I leave the software running, I assume those would not be available for toggles any longer.

The device has programming whether the Logitech software is running or not. This is why when you boot up your system, before the Logitech software even runs, pressing buttons on a Logitech G-series keyboard will have default behaviors like pressing F1-F6.

If you want M1,M2,M3,MR programmed by the Logitech software, then leave the Logitech software running. If you want these buttons programmed by ISBoxer, then shut down the Logitech software.

This M-key behavior (change light states, reload different behaviors into the G-key banks) is built into the Logitech software, not the hardware. This is different from the typical G-key behavior (e.g. press key combo) which is mostly straight from the hardware. This is why shutting down the Logitech software prevents the M-key behaviors, but not the G-key behaviors, and why it is typically recommended to clear your profile and close the software, if you want to program the device through ISBoxer.

They are running in conjunction whether you configure a conflict or not. Yes.

ISBoxer knows the physical state of the buttons on your Logitech device because the device provides this state information -- whether you program the device or not. Put another way: Any Hotkeys bound in ISBoxer to your Logitech device's buttons will fire, whether the button is programmed by the Logitech software (whether it is running or not) to do something else or not.

The only difference is if the button is programmed by the Logitech software to do something, it is going to do that too. So, if G600-G1 is configured in Logitech to send Mouse1, and G600-G1 it's configured in ISBoxer to send Mouse2, then when you press G600-G1, it's going to both press Mouse1 and Mouse2. ISBoxer does not prevent or override the Logitech-programmed behavior. If the button is not configured to do anything by the Logitech software, though, then nothing "extra" happens, there is no "conflict" and they "run in conjunction".

Clear as mud? ;)

Re: G-Shift on Logitech G600 Mouse

Everything is working great, thanks.

I had previously cleared every key, in the 'Logitech Gaming Software 8.35' program.
And had the software set to load on bootup.
I would run Inner Space, press Control+Shift+Escape, go to Processes and 'End Process' for LCore.exe, which would shut down each of the Logitech processes.

Then I could use M1/M2/M3 for my IS Boxer state toggles.
And G1-G18 were IS Boxer hot keys for assorted mapped keys.

I've found, with an almost completely cleared G600 profile...
Except for G-Shift (ring finger, mouse button) having a keybind set (in my case Control + Tilde).
And leaving the software running, instead of ending the process...

The M1, M2 and M3 buttons can still toggle my IS Boxer states.
And G18 invites the characters into their group, whether M1 or M2 is lit or not, provided M3 (Keymaps On) is enabled.

Each of the G600-Gx buttons on the mouse does what it is configured for, within IS Boxer too.
And the G-Shift button, is not configured in IS Boxer for anything... but it is configured in the Logitech software, so it works as the Push to Talk for Ventrilo.
