send mouse click to background client without swapping.

I am four boxing, one full size on main monitor and 3 tiled on second monitor.

when loot drops in D3, I look at the 3 small screen to the right, and if I position my mouse on the main screen so that the little screens cursor is over the loot then I can pickup the loot by left clicking without even cross swaping that small window to the main window. the only problem is ALL four of my guys click so then the other guys pickup crappy items.

is there a way I can do something like, hold down F2 and mouse click and that click go to only client2, even though client 2 is not the full size foreground window. basically this will give me a way to loot without swapping the background windows to the foreground, I honestly dont need to make them bigger to see and pickup my loot, so I am really hoping theres a way to do this. hold down F2 to click into second client, hold down F3 to send left click to 3rd client window when I left click mouse, etc.

Thanks for any help :)

Re: send mouse click to background client without swapping.

Yes, you can do that.

I have a recommendation for your Window Layout though that might provide you with a better solution, since you're 4 boxing Diablo 3 on 2 monitors.

Instead of having 1 big window on the main screen and 3 small windows on the second monitor, I use my second monitor for one big dxNothing window, and I put a (fully interactive) view of each window using Video FX in each of the 4 quadrants.

This way, my main screen broadcasts to all 4, but I can also just mouse over to the second monitor to interact with any individual window through the Video FX, without changing the view on the main screen. So as far as looting goes I tap Alt in my main window so I can see all the blues and yellows and whatnot on my second screen, then I can just quickly move the mouse and click on them all as if they were one window (because at that point they are one window :) ). Additionally I can still use the main screen for any window the same way you use it, and I can make use of all the Video FX I want in all their full resolution glory (on my witch doctors that's pet health and mana balls next to the party health). My "Get more crappy loot" video will give you a little peek at that, though I'll probably put up more videos about this particular Diablo 3 setup soon. (All the setup info to do this should be in the dxNothing and Video FX links.)

But as far as holding F2, F3 etc to send to a specific window, yes you can do that... the easiest way is to use the Mapped Key Wizard from the Wizards menu, and select "Broadcasting Toggler". If you tell it to use "pressed OR released" mode, it will toggle when you press the Hotkey, and then again when you release the Hotkey, which is the behavior you're wanting as far as "do this while I hold the key". Then it's just a matter of picking which window to send it to, and which window to broadcast from. It is important to note that this new toggle will not take into account the current state of Repeater (broadcasting); it is just expecting to turn on and off. It will restore the Repeater Target (where it broadcasts TO) to "all other" and turn off broadcasting. Since you'll probably normally play with broadcasting ON (and to "all other"), then after completing the wizard you will want to go into the Mapped Key it created and remove the Action where it turns off broadcasting. (To do so, select the Key Map in the top left pane, then expand the Mapped Key in the bottom left pane and select Step 2, then right click the Action in the right pane that says it's going to turn off broadcasting and select Delete)

WoW! very nice, I like the idea of the dxNothing window basically just click the loot on those windows and it will interact with the windows instead of swapping them.

I am totally going to do this! right after I get my computer to run more acceptably :( going to do some shoestring budget upgrades.

Re: send mouse click to background client without swapping.

Lax, I love your idea for this diablo 3 layout. Unfortunatly I am having some issues implementing your setup. I have two monitors and the dxNothing set up properly (I think.) I am having some trouble setting up the VideoFx. I create the viewers like I am supposed to, but I cannot drag them on to the dxNothing screen or even on to my second monitor. The VideoFx windows seem to be confined to the main character region.

Could you provide some more detailed instructions for this set up. Specifically around how you set up your window layout and your videoFx.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Re: send mouse click to background client without swapping.

Create the viewers in the dxNothing window -- click in it and press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+G in it, etc.

Make sure you have enabled the option in the dxNothing "Character" in ISBoxer that says "Video FX Viewers stay when in background (blocks Video FX Sources!)". Otherwise, when you switch back to your main window the Video FX will disappear.

Re: send mouse click to background client without swapping.

Thanks for the help, I will give it a shot when I get home. Can you give me a screenshot or input into how your windows are laid out? I have character on on my main screen with the other three in equal sized quadrants on the second screen. I then dragged the dxnothing window over the top of regions 2-4 to fit the maximum size of my second moniter. Is this correct?

Lax,

I've been trying for a few hours now to have your exact setup with the dxNothing zone on monitor 2 with the stack of 4 Diablo 3's on Monitor one but I can't get the layout to work. Would you consider doing a comprehensive guide on exactly how yours is setup, or even a video? I bet you have been asked this before. Is there already something out there maybe? I bet a lot of people would be extremely happy... I know I would.

Thanks in advanced for any information you can give me!

Blue

... Nevermind.

I just read one of your other posts and it was so simple...thanks!
