With the new patch out, the higher difficulties are getting a lil hectic.

We've all got farming down pat in our own ways...but what plans do any of you have (if any) to tackle closer to MP10?

I think Monk of some form is still essential....but what then?

Lets keep each other updated on our progress!

The stream I'm in has found that farming an act you can faceroll is much more efficient than struggling thru the higher MPs. I'll be doing MP1 until I can 1shot elites in MP2, and work my way up that way. As far as I can tell, currently the higher MPs are only really useful for ring farms.

I did a couple act 1 runs on MP5 but it felt soooooooo slow even with all my DH'ers having near 100k dps..

I didn't die much cause i can just drop a line of 16 Caltrops (round robin key map thing) with the 2 second snare so it takes them 10 years to get to me, but i just can't stand how long it takes to kill stuff.

I removed a lot of my "balanced" gear last night and switched to cheap 20% MF gear and im enjoying it alot more. Dropped it to MP1 and am flying through act 3, and im averaging about 5-6 legendaries a night (about 3 hours of play), just clearing keep 1-3 / the spider lady / azmo. Takes about 15 or so min.

Only decent thing i have found so far was a set ring that sold for 30 mil, and a handful of rares that sold for 1-4 mil.

Oops, I mistyped. I meant to say "farming an MP you can faceroll". When using MP, the act you farm has no effect on loot, and the only way it effects difficulty is the variety of attack types found on monsters in the act. As far as mob density for EXP efficiency, I still feel that act 3 is the best.

Yea this seems like the impressing I'm getting as well...

What it means however is that while quadboxing...you need a completely different class/gear setup if your intention is to farm rings. ><

I am struggling with this exact issue.

I can farm rings on my 3x Barb 1x Monk set at MP5 all day long. The monsters do take a little longer to take out but on the uber bosses this same setup I have to drastically cut down the mp. Leoric/Mag and Ghom/Rak are doable on mp3, and Siege/Zholtun is much lower, guessing 2 at the max in my current gear.

At the same token I can go up to MP3 on 4x Witch Doctors and just fly through the content for drops, I'd guess I can clear at least 30% faster on WD's as opposed to the Barb/Monk setup, but bosses are difficult and ubers are out of the question. This is quite the dilemma for me on which to move forward with and wish there was a clear cut answer.

Up for any suggestions! :)

UPDATE:

This weekend I leveled another 2 demon hunters, so now my setup looks like:

Tank Monk /w Conviction
Tankish Throwbarb with MF and Stun/Freeze Procs
2x DH

Working well in MP5 farming so far, have yet to attempt uberbosses but it may be safer than using melee because turrets can do a lot of work while ur moving around.

I found that while WD's have these awesome cool tools that are stronger the faster you kill monsters...as you get to the higher MPs its hard to sustain Bear Spam because gruesome feast etc are no longer feasible. DHs are still very good staying power, and so are wizards i suspect.

Plus.....4x DH 12x Turrets anyone? hehehe....

The turret DH sounds extremely interesting and it's the only class I have yet to level. The turrets can't crit which is what everyone complains about but it's still pumping out 150% weapon damage.
