Video Driver Crash/multicolord Master Window

Everything worked 100% fine while duel boxing. Now that im running 3 characters, my video driver keeps crashing often when switching between characters. If the driver does not crash it turns the master screen into a snowstorm of different colors.

I tried re-installing isboxer/inner-space
Updated Video Drivers

Still no dice when running 3.

Here is some info about my PC which should be able to run 3 clients no problem.

Intel i7-2700k CPU @3.5GHZ
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
Intel SSD
32GB Corsair Vengance RAM
Corsair H100 Liquid Cooling
Coolmaster 1000Watt Power Sup
MSI Z77A-GD35 Motherboard

38-40C Temps across all Cores
Video Card Running @60C when tested with infrared thermometer

Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Video Driver Crash/multicolord Master Window

Well, at that point it's definitely either a hardware failure, or a driver failure. Reinstalling IS/ISBoxer will probably not affect it because it's going to do the same thing as far as your video driver and hardware when you load IS/ISBoxer again ;)

You can try switching between DirectX 9 and DirectX 11. Typically you can do this by going to each Character in the top left pane, and then in the bottom right pane select a Game Profile that specifies one of the two versions of DirectX. It's possible that you can avoid it by switching to the other.

You can also try changing other graphics settings in the game. Try setting it all to low and see if that changes things.

Sometimes newer drivers have newer bugs; you can also try older drivers for your card.

The Drivers Seem to still be wigging out with all directx settings.

Changed the graphic settings to high on all 3 instead of ultra, good so far :|

Re: Video Driver Crash/multicolord Master Window

Probably had something to do with the fact that three instances on Ultra max out the load on the GTX 580 and take up about 2.5GB of video RAM (at least using DX11).

Re: Video Driver Crash/multicolord Master Window

I just experienced the same thing with my main character window that Mwenzel experienced last night. I was level multiboxing 5 hunters. The problem occured when I entered Westfall. To lower the graphics processing, I changed the max view distance to about less than half the distance on 4 of my accounts. I also changed the view details to fair except for my main screen window.

I didn't have this issue when was Multiboxing 5 shamans in BGs or in an instance, but then I already had the view distance and view details set to Fair.

I hope its not a hardware issue. I'm watercooling my EVGA Nvidia 580 GTX, and its running nice and cool. When I come home tonight, I'll try a different location other than Westfall, bringing the view detail higher and view distance higher so see if I experience the same issue.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the location. Earlier this week when I was leveling a single character in the starting area of Hellfire, I was experiencing a video crash. When I disabled half of my addons the problem went away... So maybe its the addons we're using...

Mwenzel are you using an addon called Gatherer? All of my characters in question are all using Gatherer so I was wondering if that floating GUI it creates for the nodes is causing issues...

I'll experiment again also by disabling the Gatherer on screen GUI to see if solves any of these issues too.

same issue for me. dual boxing was fine, i added a toon and got the main window pixelization , followed by the error that my video card locked up and reset. i'm running a geforce 560GTX so it could be the 5 series but i was close to westfall too, my video setting were also on ultra

To everyone else who comes across this thread and has the same issue:

What we're getting at in this thread is that you can't play a bunch of clients and have them set to Ultra because it takes too much GPU power to do so. It doesn't matter if you're near Westfall, near Tirisfal Glades, near Dalaran, near The Jade Forest, or near any other zone in the game.

Just to see if I could... my 4GB GTX670 runs five accounts on Ultra settings smoothly, anywhere so far.
I upgraded from the 1GB GTX570 over the summer, and cranked the settings up just to see how it looked.

Since the plan is to 10-box, I was planning on lowering the settings at some point.
Just haven't gotten around to that, or had an issue with Ultra x5.

Just to clarify for anyone else that comes across this thread, you're using DX9 not DX11.
