Tank/Healer problem

I'm currently using the video fx to run tank healer, but whenever Im dpsing a mob. My healer wont quit targeting the tanks mob to heal him, he just keeps targeting whatever the tank is targeting. I'm using grid to click it, but he instantly just changes back to whatever the tank is dpsing, how do I fix this?

Re: Tank/Healer problem

What you're supposed to do with the healer Addon is build the heal into the click, so that when you click on your tank (or any other character) in your Grid, it heals him regardless of what he has targeted. Then you do things like left click for big heal, right click for fast heal, middle click for this or that, etc. To my knowledge, this is kind of functionality is added to Grid in particular via the "Clique" Addon. I haven't used it, I use and recommend Vuhdo personally but many multiboxers use Grid as well.

But, to answer the question...

What happens when you press your DPS button is there's a Mapped Key called "FTL Assist Me" and it's in the "General" Key Map. If you look at it, it says it does "WoW macro '/assist {FTL}' in 'Quick Setup 38' -> all other". The "-> all other" is the key here, it's why your healer takes your target. If you NEVER want him to take your target, you can change that to something that does not include the healer. That would also affect Interact with Target (to bring up the quest window, merchant windows, bank windows, etc from NPCs), so don't change "FTL Assist Me" directly.

Instead, make a copy of it (you can right click and select Make Copy) like "FTL Assist Me - Combat" and then change the copy. You can set up an Action Target Group called "assisters" if you want to get fancy, and just leave your healer out of it, and have it go to "Group (others in):assisters" to go to "other assisters" instead of "all other". Then change your DPS keys to use "FTL Assist Me - Combat" instead of "FTL Assist Me" and he will no longer auto-assist during combat.
