ISB wont launch

I have had this issue for 5days now and im taring my hair out trying to figure it out. :(
when i try to launch a ISB it will either
a. give me a busy signal on my curser for about 15sec and then do nothing
b. launch a reg version of WOW that does not have the broadcast or the mapkey options in the top left side of the screen that it normally has.
ISB worked before 5.0.4 came out but i didnt get my 2nd and 3rd accounts time cards reactivated until about 3 days after the patch.
i made new char sets but to no avail.
i set WOW to 32bit (somehow the patch changed it to 64) and still nothing. I deleted all the lavish and ISB files, redownloaded and reinstalled ISB with no success.
I poured through the furums only to find one subject that resembled mine. but alas the salution that worked for them did not work for me.n i have bombarded the chatroom in search for answeres but while they were verry kind to help the best they could they ran out of answeres also.
"please Lax. your our only hope"

Re: ISB wont launch

Recently there have been several cases of this behavior being caused by a virus; the virus would not show up in the Hijack This! diagnostics (or the similar diagnostics that are built into ISBoxer under Help->Diagnostics for game crashes), but MAY show up in the following:

The Windows Event Viewer may have an Application Error logged for wow.exe at the time of the launch. If it does, then information about the error from the "Details" tab may help identify the cause of the crash. To get this, you can type "event viewer" into the Start menu search box (assuming Vista or later; otherwise it's in Administrative Tools control panel), and inside the Event Viewer program on the left is a list of headings.. expand "Windows Logs" and, under it, select Application. Then, to the right, it will load a list of Events of various types -- information, warning, errors... what you're looking for is an Error, from the time of the launch, from the source "Exefile". After finding it, highlight it and then at the bottom click the Details tab and click the "XML View" button, then paste me that information.

Here's a specific recent example: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2705 - we helped this guy the ISBoxer Chat Room so you won't see the resulting discussion on that thread but the Event Viewer showed a particularly suspicious file: C:\Users\XXXXXXXX\AppData\Local\Google\Apple\mvqjl.dll. The filename and paths both stuck out like a sore thumb, since the filename is random garbage and the path suggests that Apple and Google want to be in bed together (Android vs iPhone might convince us otherwise). Anyway, this did NOT show up in his diagnostics because the virus hides itself from this kind of diagnostics, but once he got rid of it, the launching problem went away.

But it's not just viruses that are incompatible with Inner Space, sometimes things you actually intended to install on your PC can cause similar behavior. Usually security-related products or other things that might have a reason to attach themselves to the game process. The only thing even remotely out of the ordinary that lets itself show up in your diagnostics is this:
Code:
C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\SysWOW64\BtMmHook.dll 6.3.0.8200 Broadcom Corporation.

Assuming you're not using it at the time, you could probably shut off bluetooth on your computer for a moment to rule this out. That's probably not it, but I wouldn't completely rule it out until you figure out what is.

Re: ISB wont launch

well halfway through my first reply on here right after i stated im a little outa my legue here but i hadnt found anything i realized i was staring at the wrong end of the list (the 09/2010 date is what gave it away) and was way out of my legue
im lost lax. im in over my head. i have the event viewer up but i do not see anything that points in the wow direction. theres a few error's a few more information stamps and a couple warnings starting at about 6:00am thismorn apparently it did a defrag and backed up a resteration point thismorning i tried to start my ISB team thismorn hoping that might bring out a sore thumb. going back to about 3am i see severl things but it looks to be mostley stuff i did trying to fix the issue at hand. im not sure how to get you the info you would need to help me boss.

Re: ISB wont launch

I'm almost positive that the solution was to switch from DX11 to DX9 before launching. I may have that backwards, someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
