Clients crash to desktop

I usually multibox on 6 of the same creeps and everything works fine. But lately i started playing with my old team of 6 different freep classes again and once every ~15 minutes a client will crash to desktop. And it will cause a chain reaction, because usually another client will crash 30 sec after that, and then another and another. I know some moments in advance if a client will crash, since if i switch the window of a follower to the main screen that screen will become very small and i can't do anything when that happens. When that happens then a few seconds after that the client crashes.

Main client seems fine, that one doesn't crash at all. For the main client i already switched to DX9 instead of DX11, but with maxed settings. The 5 followers are also DX9 but with Very Low settings. I also have the problem on DX11 so i see no reason to switch to DX11 again... :)

Follower clients are set to max 25 FPS in ISboxer. Main client to 60 FPS.

Sound is turned to 0.00 on followers.

windows 7 64 bit
nivida GTX780
asus xonar phoebus
i7 3820 @ 3.6 Ghz
16 GB RAM

What could be the problem?

Re: Clients crash to desktop

No error message?

The first thing I would do any time you have issues is to check for driver updates, particularly for your video card.

If that doesn't help, then without an error message, to get diagnostic information you may need to check the Windows Event Log. Open up the Windows Control Panel and in the search box type in "event" (with no quotes). It should show a "View event logs" option under Administrative Tools. Click that to open the Event Viewer. In the left pane there is a "Windows Logs" category, expand that and select "Application" under it -- this is different than the "Applications and Services Logs". Selecting "Application" will bring up a history of application crashes, and you should see an entry for each of your game crashes. They will show up as "Error" under Level, the Date and Time will match the crash time, Source should say "lotroclient". If you don't see one that says lotroclient or at least something lotro related, stop there because the other entries in the error log are not useful for this. If you DO see it, select it there in the list, and then at the bottom click the Details tab. Click XML View, select all of it, and paste me the details.

Re: Clients crash to desktop

That's unfortunate, does not provide enough useful information.

Okay, get me "Diagnostics for game crashes" from ISBoxer's Help menu. http://isboxer.com/wiki/Diagnostics
Note: It says to get it from a game instance that is NOT launched by ISBoxer, but since you'll have time before it crashes, you can just go ahead and get it from a lotroclient.exe launched by ISBoxer.

Should i do this when i think the game will crash or can i do this whenever i want?

Re: Clients crash to desktop

Any time while the game is running is fine -- the one you got is good.

Can you try shutting down BitDefender? This probably isn't as easy as it sounds, it will likely leave things running (including system services) if you close the program normally, so the easiest thing for a lot of people to do is actually uninstall it. (It can be reinstalled again later of course, especially if it is ruled out anyway.)

Frankly I'd hope it's that because the next thing is xonar

Frankly I'd hope it's that because the next thing is xonar

Ok will try to run it without Bitdefender, it's still a trial version i forgot to activate.

If that doesn't work i try to do something with the xonar... I actually think it's that now you mention it because sometimes i hear it crackle a bit in lotro.

Re: Clients crash to desktop

Just had a multibox session, done an instance that took fairly long because of some wipes, but no crashes. Without Bitdefender. So maybe that was indeed the problem. Will test again later.

Re: Clients crash to desktop

Seems to be fixed, no crash at all after disabling Bitdefender. Thanks! :)
