New ISBoxer EVE Launcher and Me...

First of all, I wanted to thank you for helping me with my rock crunching needs for several years now - this service has made my EVE gaming experience immeasurably better!

With CCP constantly trying to "improve" their game by adding crazy requirements just to get into the game, they have released their newest anti-miner campaign with the login system changes.

Which brings me to my second: With the help of Mr. Thaler (thank you very much by the way), I have finally been able to get my locust horde online - - with one annoying snag: all of the game windows are squares, taking up about 2/3 of my main screen and stacked on top of each other. Is there a posting or instruction list yet that describes how I get this new setup to use my old window layout? I really liked the layout that I had been using but I really dont understand the set up procedure for ISBoxer very well (I just got it working well enough way back when and then never messed with it for fear of breaking it).

If the instructions do not yet exist for this, could I please request that the writer make them incredibly simple level - like "step 1: click desktop icon to start program. Step 2: dont be stupid..." that kind of thing. I'm really good at working something when I understand its principles, but I have yet to get my head fully around the workings of ISBoxer and its settings.

Yes. The answer is actually just to follow the step by step instructions on the ISBoxer EVE Launcher page, under "Recommendations for ISBoxer 41" (Here is a step-by-step description of updating your ISBoxer 41 Character Set to use ISBoxer EVE Launcher...).

If you follow exactly that procedure -- click where it tells you to click, tick what it tells you to tick -- then other than the launching process (which now should actually be faster than before since it auto logs in every account), your EVE team should work identical to the way it did before, including the Window Layout.

So then that means that I am being retarded. Which is kind of normal for me.

I followed the steps on the page you listed and the accounts are still just logging in as a 760-ish square stacked on top of each other, though I can change the size of the screens for each one individually I cannot get them located the way I want to on my screens.

They open in the correct order, to the character selection screen. They are just in small squares occupying the same location on my primary display.

I wrote out some instructions, step by step in this thread. They are pretty much the same as Lax's ones, just with a bit more detailed guidance. For an existing character set, you would follow steps 1 to 16, then in ISB, select each existing character and set them to the correct game profile, then once complete move on to step 25 and continue.

Not that the getting the team to launch sounds like it is your issue. It rather sounds like your issue is the display setup. It really sounds like you have a 4K monitor with Display Scaling enabled (i.e. something other than 100%), but you haven't mentioned your display setup, so I'm not sure.


If that is not the case, then share your config and we can see if there is anything obvious in it. It might also be worth getting a Compatibility Diagnostic at the same time, jic.

This sounds like they are all becoming Slot 1, and therefore all want to go into the same place in your Window Layout....

The only reason they would all become Slot 1 is if the same launcher instance (either ISBoxer EVE Launcher, or the actual EVE Launcher, doesn't matter which one) launches all of them. The launcher was launched through Inner Space, and is launching the game clients directly.

You PROBABLY missed the box when doing Create Game Profiles for the account-specific Game Profiles, which says to use a NEW INSTANCE of ISBoxer EVE Launcher. Re-do the account=specific Game Profiles and don't miss what the instructions said to do... That's this one:

Select all EVE Accounts in the list and select "Create Game Profile". Tick "Perform launch from a new ISBoxer EVE Launcher instance". Do not tick "Leave new ISBoxer EVE Launcher instance open after launch". Set the drop-down box to "Launch EVE client directly". Click "Go"! (Remember the Game name and Game Profile schemes for the next step!)
