Switching characters makes my game freeze

I am boxing two characters. When I switch from my main to my alt and then back....then try to open my inventory (or any kind of pop up window in D3) my game freezes for about 12 seconds. I tried a different monitor to no avail. I tried swapping my cpu strategy to no avail. Any suggestions?

I am using an ASUS Republic of gamers Laptop that now has an SSD installed.

Im not much of a techie at all so please don't get to crazy deep on me, I'll pass out.

Thanks in advance.

Lax your fixes worked. It was obviously operator error. I re-ran the windows layout and when I exported it had about 5 pop up boxes fixing what was wrong. Thank you so much. No more freezing up. Great job.

Re: Switching characters makes my game freeze

Could you please share your fixes?

I've been walking around with ~20sec multibox freezes since I started using ISboxer. It's not limited to switching chars, but can happen at any time. Amount of these freezes varies but I guess 1 per 2 hour. I like to play hardcore haha, so im constantly busy with being able to survive the next freeze.

Any help or tips we can try, please let me us know.

I don't think this sounds like Thorn10's issue.

For starters in helping you diagnose your issue, get me "Diagnostics for game crashes" (yes) from ISBoxer's Help menu. http://isboxer.com/wiki/Diagnostics. The instructions say to get it from an instance of the game launched without ISBoxer, but since it's not actually crashing please just get it from one launched by ISBoxer. I would not expect "Diagnostics for game freezes" to provide much useful information about your issue -- it is used for freezes where the game doesn't just start working again after a few seconds.

If it were me, I would start by checking for driver updates, starting with video drivers. It may also help to check for an ISBoxer update via Help->About ISBoxer. (Only relatively major updates are "pushed" to everyone; for minor updates you would have to specifically check for like this.) Then I would monitor my system during the 20 seconds of lag, to see if some resource usage is maxed out or spiking during that time. Basically, follow http://isboxer.com/wiki/HOWTO:Tweak_your_framerate -- the report from the software linked under "Identifying framerate bottlenecks" may be useful to share with us if you need additional help.
