problem with innerspace

Hi all,

i have a problem with my Inner Space. When i start it, it will close immediately.
There is no error message. The little icon in the taskbar can not be clicked. After a few seconds the process to terminate by itself.

I have Uninstall the Programm 3 Times and reinstalled it, but doesn't worked.
I installed with disabled firewall and Anti-Virus.

The window to enter the account information is not displayed. Do I have to additionally delete something to make it appear at this again?

Have anyone a idea to fix this problem?

Thank you

Re: problem with innerspace

How quickly is InnerSpace.exe disappearing from the Task Manager? Do you have User Account Control disabled in Windows? If so, you might need to tell Inner Space to "Run as Administrator"

When you did your fresh install, I take it Inner Space didn't patch up? One thing you can try is to go to https://www.lavishsoft.com/innerspace/archives and follow the instructions (you shouldn't need to disable auto patching in this case) to install the latest version in the list.

Re: problem with innerspace

It disappears after 15 seconds from the Task Manager. User Account Control is disabled. And Innerspace always starts as an administrator. After each new installation immediately opens the patcher, and patches.

Okay.

I would check the Windows Event Viewer to see if there's an Error entry listed for InnerSpace.exe at the time of the crash. You can find the Event Viewer through the Search box in Windows, just type in Event Viewer. Inside the Event Viewer program, under "Windows logs" is a category labelled "Application". Click that, and then on the right at the top is a list of events. What you're looking for would say "Error" under the Level column, and InnerSpace under the Source column. If there is an entry for this, then click the Details tab at the bottom, click "XML View" and copy/paste me the details.

That version is old enough to probably not work too well with ISBoxer :)

Re: problem with innerspace

Hmmm strange. Sadly the event log provides no useful information except that it crashed at address 0, which should never be used, and doesn't narrow it down. :(

Are there any Windows Compatibility settings configured on Inner Space? What version of Windows is this?

Can you grab me ISBoxer's "Diagnostics for game crashes" from the Help menu? Pointing it at a 1.10 version of InnerSpace.exe is fine.

Something else you can try is to rename IS-D3D11Engine.dll (in the Inner Space folder). This is one of many new things since the 1.10 version; renaming this file will make InnerSpace.exe use D3D9 instead of D3D11 and has absolutely no effect on games launched through IS.

In that case get me Diagnostics for game crashes as mentioned in my previous post, except for the game rather than InnerSpace.exe. (And... what game?)
