Low FPS with Inner Space (solved)

Hey all, been having some weird problem with Innerspace since I've returned to Everquest.

I have a 8 core AMD CPU and a gtx 960. I can load 6 toons in EQ with high FPS. I can load them with WinEQ as well no problems.

When I use Innerspace I am stuck with 5 FPS per toon. I've tried just about every setting.

Is there a problem with InnerSpace lately? Would like to have 30 FPS per toon on the same screen.

Looking at HWMonitor I have no hardware bottlenecks which leads me to belive this is a software issue.

Anyone have problems like this or can anyone suggest a change to help me out?

Thanks

It is likely to be something in the CPU Strategy Wizard. EQ used to need to have a separate core allocated to each game instance (round robin strategy), although I'm not sure if this is still the case.

If not, then using the Master Slot = No Slot, and then All Cores option (last in the drop down), is recommended (this is simply letting Windows manage it).

Re: Low FPS with Inner Space

Hey Bob,

Thanks for your reply. I tried various CPU options, even when each window was assigned to 1 core I never broke 50% load. I will try not assigning a master core and lets windows distribute the load. The only thing I think I haven't done is let a master window have no dedicated CPU, however I have 8 cores and 6 toons, so each toon was getting its own core anyway
Here is my setup currently:

Thanks for your help sir.

Re: Low FPS with Inner Space

The paste you provided shows that you have all slots using all cores with no dedicated. If this doesn't work for you then maybe have a fiddle manually with the allocation. You can do this by highlighting the cores (or not highlighting them) under the Performance tab for each Slot number in your character set.

You should make sure that each slot has at least 2 cores to run on, because if one core is busy dealing with other stuff (e.g. network traffic, playing system sounds, running an AV scan etc), then the game will stop if it is only allowed to use that one core.

From what I can tell WinEQ provides pretty much the same functionality with the Core/ FPS assignment as Inner Space, so you should be able to replicate the configuration you had with WinEQ, and presumably get the same results, although there are potentially different incompatibilities with Inner Space vs WinEQ. A diagnostic may help spot any. http://isboxer.com/wiki/Diagnostics

Bob that was just the latest configuration I've used. I've tried them all

Re: Low FPS with Inner Space

Ok so I've found a culprit. I also run MQ2, the mmobugs compile. If I don't load that, I run all boxes just fine with high settings and great FPS.

Anyone also use this compile and have a fix or an idea?

Re: Low FPS with Inner Space (solved)

I've solved the problem.

Innerspace does not work with the MQ2 plugin MQ2Autologin.

Disabling this and my setup is working flawlessly.

Hopefully this can help other people
