InnerSpace not starting

Hi,

I'm not sure how long this has been going on, since I've only recently started gaming in the morning. Usually have to try to start IS quite a few times until I get it up and running. I click the icon and nothing happens except the IS process shows on task manager's processes list. There's no icon and I cannot run it again (already running message) until I kill the process. After several attempts it suddenly works.
I guess what I'm asking is if there's scheduled maintenance during these hours or if there's something wrong? (talking about morning Israel time).

Thanks!

Edit:
Forgot to mention that when I cannot get IS to start, the chat also doesn't work for me.
Immediately when I get IS to start, I can also get into the chat...

Re: InnerSpace not starting

Sounds like you have a routing issue, or more than likely it is something with your ISP or your modem if it is so consistent.

Re: InnerSpace not starting

I don't think it's a routing/isp issue on my side... since it's resolved without me doing anything.

Re: InnerSpace not starting

That is the joy of the internet and the hardware that runs it, including at your home and your ISP; it is designed and purposely built to rebuild it's routing paths in the event that it is detected that something is broken. This happens autonomously without human intervention (although sometimes it is still required). This is a security and safety mechanism intended to allow communication paths to stay intact in the event part of the network get destroyed. You can read all about the history of ARPANET and the design requirements.

If you are getting an issue that is occurring regularly, and pretty much at the same scheduled time, then it is more likely to be closer to your connection (e.g. computer, home router, ISP, Mossad) than out in the remote residuals of the router regions.

There is no regular maintenance of lavishsoft authentication servers, nor the IRC channels. A number of people stay logged in to the IRC 24/7, and there are no regular or frequent outages. I don't remember any for the last 9 months.

OK. What is the ip of the lavasofst authentication server? Next time this happens I'll do a trace route.

Re: InnerSpace not starting

The next time it happens can you get a Diagnostic for Game Crashes http://isboxer.com/wiki/Diagnostics, and select Inner Space. Post a link to that back here. This will help identify if there is any obvious software things that might be interfering at the time you get this issue.

You could also grab the Diagnostic for Game Freezes (in the same menu) and send that dump file to lax@lavishsoft.com and refer to this thread. Lax may be able to see where it is hanging from that and possibly provide some more insight.

Also. are you using a specific chat client?, or the one in ISboxer? Does the web client work? http://isboxer.com/chat/
