RIFT 4boxing with extreme lag

Hello!

My tech knowledge is pretty high, and I'm having an issue with boxing on Rift, looking for some help because there must be something I'm missing.

I used to 4box and 5box in Rift and World of warcraft months ago and never had any problems, and recently started playing rift again and decided to 4box a team up just for general farming purposes. And I'm getting extreme lag.

Here's my system setup:
GPU - GTX760
CPU - i7 2600k @4ghz
Ram - 8 GB @1800 mhz
PSU - 750watt

I can play Rift at maxed out settings and not lag a bit, I can even open several copies without any isboxer support and have characters follow me around, all windows with maxed settings and no lagging. BUT after running a setup wizard and getting a 4 man team going, I've noticed that my PRIMARY window is lagging like crazy and its almost impossible to just move around. Everything works and the macros for following and the button mapping are all working, and the strange thing is it looks like my primary control window is the only one lagging, when I set up the layout so I can view all the screens simultaneously the secondary screens are running smooth and watching my primary control character chop all over the place, and this is the case no matter which character I try to use as my primary.

I've tried to tweek the settings for graphics, and even at one point set all of my running copies to a low quality render and turning all of the settings for graphics to the minimum, and still it lags. Then i tried to open just a single character slot on those lowest settings, and using just that one window i was lagging like crazy and couldn't do anything, so I'm convinced its some sort of a settings issue that I'm missing somewhere.

I thought maybe it could me a driver issue, so I ran a graphics driver sweeper and removed and reinstalled them, then I checked all of my drivers for my mobo and chipset, and flashed my bios. Same results, everything seems to have been up to date from the start.

I've played with the FPS limiter settings and v-sync, and I've messed with a few settings in the innerspace config window and then set back to the defaults and I'm not getting anywhere with it, same results no matter what I try there. I've changed the 'make game thing its the foreground window' setting trying it on and off, and most of the general isboxer setup settings. Can't seem to shake the lag in my primary window. I've linked my settings file below, hopefully somebody can help me here.

Your ISBoxer configuration specifically overrides those settings, so as you discovered there is no point in changing those if you're using ISBoxer ;)

It sounds like the issue you're having could be caused by incompatibility with other running software (including malware; for example, some keyloggers have been shown to introduce heavy stuttering when using the mouse or keyboard). Get us a "Diagnostics for game crashes" -- http://isboxer.com/wiki/Diagnostics -- and we can narrow that down some. Since it's not actually crashing, you can just get the diagnostics from any instance of the game client that is launched by ISBoxer and that will be fine. This will give us a list of programs running as well as a list of things loading into the game process.

If the diagnostics lists a "stij.exe", that is malware and a known cause of this issue -- you would want to get rid of it immediately.

What % of cpu are each of your boxes using? If it has been a few months you might not have been multiboxing during storm legion before, which I think is more graphically complex. Are you using low graphics renderers for the slaves?

Diagnostic tool with the game running normally:

My cpu usage %'s are 30-70, I have boxed during storm legion, and slave programs are running in a low quality render.

Re: RIFT 4boxing with extreme lag

Try shutting these down:

Code:
44. raptr - Process ID: 5932 (C:\PROGRA~2\Raptr\raptr.exe)
45. raptr_encoder_server - Process ID: 6128 (C:\PROGRA~2\Raptr\raptr_encoder_server.exe)
46. raptr_ep64 - Process ID: 5524
47. raptr_im - Process ID: 5940 (C:\PROGRA~2\Raptr\raptr_im.exe)
50. RzOvlMon - Process ID: 2960

Re: RIFT 4boxing with extreme lag

OH MY GOD

It was Raptr causing the lag, shut it down and restarted and its running beautifully with graphics on ultra.

I've never experienced a third program causing problems like that, and I previously boxed and streamed with raptr open as well as other things running, so I would have never even thought about it.

Thanks a bunch for the insight, I'm good to go.

:D
