Dual Monitor - Cross Monitor Swapping Help

Having a perplexing problem.
I have a two monitor system, both screens the same resolution (1920 x 1080), both on the same GPU. I'm play a duo on EQ2, with one instance of EQ2 on display 1, and second instance on display 2. Works well for the most part, but there are times when I need to interact between the character and the EQ2 environment, usually to click or collect something for a quest - EQ2 sometimes demanding that each player in the group click, collect or otherwise interact with the game. Now I can just drag the mouse over to display 2 and do whatever's necessary.
However what I'd prefer to do is hit a key combo (or something) , to swap instance 1 on to display 2 AND instance 2 on to display 1. Sounds simple, but this is where I'm struggling. I watched MiRai's video on window layouts, specifically the part about enabling cross monitor swapping but I can get it to work.
The steps I followed are :
Start Window Layout Wizard, then select character set, I get the usual box, with \\.DISPLAY1 and 2, both windows at max res, and <No Window Layout> in the drop down. I can see the Multiple Monitors option and the Cross monitor swap is there but not set to anything. I change this setting to true and hit next, I then get the Please select a window layout style .... box. I've tried typing in a name to the "No Window Layout" drop down to see if I can create one this point, but that doesn't work. So, I scroll through the list, there's only one other option that show Multiple Monitors (Muliti Monitor on Display 1 and 2 etc..), so I go with that and save the layout, and as this has 2 quarter size regions (2 & 3), I resize region 2 to be the full 1920 x 1080. And from this point I stuck. Depending what settings I play around with I can EITHER get instance 2 to move to display 1 from display 2, but not actually swap, IE instance 1 stays on display 1 not on 2, where I need it, but behind instance 2, OR instances 1 and 2 stubbornly stay on displays 1 and 2 respectively.

That's the potted version of the problem, so firstly is it possible to instantly - or as near as - to put instance on display 2 and instance 2 on display 1 ? Assuming this is possible, can some please point me at or provide a simple step by step guide to creating this type of layout.

Meanwhile I'll carry on experimenting.

Cheers FW

Re: Dual Monitor - Cross Monitor Swapping Help

The easiest choice is the default keys of CTRL+ALT+1 and CTRL+ALT+2 which are used to swap slots to the Active region. These are set on the Slot numbers in your Character set. Select you character set in the top left, in the lower left, select a slot number and then on the right it will have a Hotkey to swap this character.

This does depend on how your window Layout is configured though. If you window layout has swapping disabled then they wont swap.

If you have issues then share your profile and I/we can tell you what you need to change. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13

In particular, the problem is with charset EQ2TLE and the window layout also EQ2TLE.

I'm using CTRL+ALT+1 and 2 as the default keys, and with this profile, I can get the second instance of EQ2 from Display 2 to 1, but instance 1 stays on display 1, regardless of what I try.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Dual Monitor - Cross Monitor Swapping Help

I don't think EQ2TLE should be doing any swapping since it's set to "never," and there's no Roaming Slot assigned. So, to fix this you should first go into the Window Layout itself, and then change the Swap Hot Character to main region to "always, for game windows." After that, under the Swap Groups tab of the region editor, set the Roaming Slot to Slot 1.
