Hotkey to Reposition Window

Hello,

I can't figure this one out :/ I am only Single Boxing (using ISBoxer because WinEQ2 isn't working out) and want a hotkey to either swap a window to another Windows Layout Region, or just plain old move a resize the window.

Phrased another way, I want to hit a hotkey and have the Window move from 1 monitor to the other and vice versa.

I've tried Action - New Windows Style Hotkey, Style to change = Reset (Desired Rendering Size) with the new Position and Size. I also tried creating another Windows Layout Region but couldn't figure out how to make Slot 1 swap to Region 2.

Re: Hotkey to Reposition Window

I just thought of something that I will try later, and that is that this Action just readjusts the Region parameters. I will still need to trigger the session to go to it's home slot or something like that.

If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know.

Re: Hotkey to Reposition Window

You want a Window State Action after the Window Style Action, in order to trigger changing to the new style. It can go in the same Step, right after the Window Style Action.

Perfect, here's another one:

Can I get the game resolution to reset, if my secondary monitor is not the same resolution, or even aspect ratio, as the primary?

Depends on whether the game wants to reset the resolution. But yes, set the "Reset (Desired Rendering Size)" style to the resolution you want, then use a Window State Action to send it to the Reset Region, with either Normal swap or "Instant, but normal swap if the style's size does not match game resolution"

Thanks for the fast response, Lax.

The game, I guess, does not feel like resetting it's resolution :p. It's EQ, so I didn't have high expectations on this one.

You rule!

Re: Hotkey to Reposition Window

Lax,

I'm having a similar issue myself. I use the profile that loads 4 instances on my mini-monitor, but I'd like to be able to press f5 or something and have whatever target window selected open up onto my large main display.

All of these instructions so far have me confused and I can't seem to find it in the settings. Should I post a new thread, asking this?

Yes a new thread for your slightly different question is probably the right thing to do. Generally you do not need to follow these instructions in this thread. I would suggest to you that you can probably just pick one of the multi-monitor Window Layout styles provided by the wizard, and then set it to swap "only when I press the Activate Current Window Hotkey" -- this is an option in your Window Layout. The Activate Current Window Hotkey is then found directly below this setting.
