3dVision / Fullscreen / Vsync question on Diablo 3

When I launch direct from the Diablo III profile (on the innerspace right-click menu) I get a solid 60 FPS as reported by fraps and by innerspace and 3dVision runs smooth as silk. However, when I launch my 4-player team, I am seeing 60-63 fps on the fullscreenish option. The label on this is "This Window Layout features a single window with no border, the size of the full screen." These settings are causing 3dvision to flicker a bit. Does anybody know if there is a way to use the same Vsync / fullscreen options that default profile uses on a 4-player team? Thanks very much! (attached XML)

Re: 3dVision / Fullscreen / Vsync question on Diablo 3

When you launch the default profile directly from the menu, there is no Window Layout applied, so it is up to the game. When you launch the character set, there is.

AFAIK ISBoxer is not setup to cope with 3Dvision so it may be doing something that 3D does not like, for example, 3D Vision generally requires Full Screen, but ISBoxer Window Layouts force games to run in Windowed Mode regardless of the game setting, because you cannot have multiple applications receive input when one is in Full Screen. I see you only have a single character though. You can always NOT have a Window Layout assigned to the character set with 1 character (assuming that this character is the 3D Vision one). To do this select No Layout in the Window Layout Wizard, and then you can arrange the windows how you like. You may not be able to use Full Screen because this may block out ISBoxer, but give it a go, see what happens.

There is a Vsync setting is in the character sets, and it is set to disabled in both your sets. It is usual to have vsync disabled, because you are running multiple characters and your FPS may be forced lower than vSync likes. Of course if you only have one character, then you may want to clear this checkbox for the 3D vision character set.

Yup. I don't think Inner Space supports it as we've always told people to remove it when trying to fix things.

Thanks very much for your help! I was able to make it work! I used the quick setup wizard to make a character set with no window layout. Next I unchecked the "disable vertical sync" option in the new character set. Then I dragged the team from the other pc into the "also launch section" in the new character set. Finally I set Diablo 3 to "fullscreen" (ingame option) on the 3dvision pc and checked in in-game V-sync. Broadcasting works fine to the other PC, AND 3d Vision is now perfectly smooth!

Also, 3dvision does work in windowed mode now, in fact I was able to stack 4 3dvision windowed modes at once on 1 pc with isboxer. I could only hit 30fps that way, but it was still quite playable. Thanks very much for your help again!

That's the beauty of PC's, just because its not supported doesn't mean it might not work anyway ;)
