From the first post...

Lax wrote:The game does have both Follow and Assist, and it is possible to set up per-Slot, though Assist is Combat only. They give you Follow on the default action bar, but you'll have to make Assist. You can enter in /macro Assist /assist to make a button you can drop on the bar. You can move Follow and Assist to particular spots on the bar, and then configure the Assist Target and Follow Target Variable Keystrokes in ISBoxer (select Variable Keystrokes in top left pane) to match which buttons you've placed them on. From there, the default Slot-order Targeting should work for you to manually follow using Alt+F and assist (for Combat only) using Alt+A.

Doe this make it simple? About as simple as other games to MB. Like WOW? probably not quite. WOW has a powerful macro system (if you know how to use it); but then ISBoxer can do some pretty amazing stuff too if you learn how. I imagine AO will be somewhat like STO/SWTOR; my brief look indicated I'd need to learn a new play style.

In reverse. You are playing on the Live worlds, so your characters wont be wiped. The game client is still in beta, so subject to change. It also has a few issues, as noted in some of the prior posts on this thread.

You will need the development build of Inner Space (at the current time anyway - you need at least build 6093). Right click the InnerSpace icon, select Patcher, select the Download Development Builds option, exit InnerSpace (right click icon, select Exit), then restart InnerSpace.

Re: Multiboxing Anarchy Online (new engine Beta) for Free

I believe the new engine was only in open beta for a couple weeks and has since been pushed to their Live servers.

Source: Monthly Development Update - June 2015 (Uno, dos, tres, Catorce!)
With the start of the Anniversary, we patched the Live servers with AO version 18.8.0. While this patch included some Anniversary updates, perhaps the largest change was that this opened up the New Engine client to be used on the Live servers.

Re: Multiboxing Anarchy Online (new engine Beta) for Free

Hello just purchased the ISboxer and Innerspace for a year :D

the goal is to MB Anarchy Online, i am struggling to get the game to launch, i have the new client installed 3 times and set 3 different launchers for the windows i will be using. When i launch the game first window crashes much like the picture showed in previous posts.

When i try and set my own window sizes and even turn off swapping i still get the same problem ?

How are you other people using it ? i use a single monitor. You said dont use a window layout how do i do that ?

edit: Main reason i chose isboxer was for the multiscreen layout, i had previously used hotkeynet and although it worked seeing the other screens and being able to swap between then nicely was my main hope

Re: Multiboxing Anarchy Online (new engine Beta) for Free

Window layouts shouldn't make much difference, except for which resolution the game is being set to.

If anything your problems are more than likely to stem from something else interfering. Get a diagnostic and we'll have a look.

Also. You don't need 3 installs of the same client. This normally just causes Windows to use more memory. ISboxer has the concept of virtual files for the configuration items you might want to be separate for games, while using a single installation. See Multiple game folders

How to fix this?

Thanks!

I'm an old AO player but I moved on a while back. I was just curious to try if it worked so I downloaded the new client.

There are 2 things you may want to try to remedy this problem. I had the same issue and it seemed to resolve itself doing the following:

1. These were my settings (basically default settings + windowed and no borders). This shouldn't matter but hey worth a shot:

2. Try with "No window layout" in ISBoxer (don't forget to export):

3. This is the real voodoo magic step. For some reason when I gave the black window (after pressing PLAY) some input it moved on and didn't get stuck. So press "space" bar and your left mouse button or whatever and see if it moves on to the login screen.

I'm not sure what fixed it for me, but those were the 3 things I tried to get past "an error occurred in the device reset callback function". But now back to Lord of the Rings Online!

I've had some better luck using VFX to stop the callback error that others were noticing so thanks for that. I am only having some wonky behavior with the assist features.

Basically I am utilizing the ISBoxer 'Follow Me' (Mouse4) and 'Assist Me' (Mouse5) functions, which are then calling a keybind (NUM / and NUM *) to call them respectively which are bound in game to a specific hotbar slot.

The keys are bound in game to a hotbar option on each of the characters, which are basically this:

NUM / Button - bound in-game to hotbar slot which contains the in-game macro '/macro follow /follow'
NUM * button - bound in-game to hotbar slot which contains the in-game macro '/macro assist /assist'
    Q button - in-game button which initiates combat/autoattack.

Now the macro buttons for NUM / and NUM * are on the action hotbars, and the 'Follow Me' macro works flawlessly and appropriate per slot I initiate it on.

However, with the 'Assist Me' macro this game makes it so in order for assisting to work the target of the assist MUST be in combat already. This means I must initiate combat on the master toon by hitting Q and THEN I can use the 'Assist Me' function to essentially run the NUM * button. This will give the child toons the target of the master. However, they also then need to initiate combat which means hitting Q. So in order to do this I have added a new step to the Assist like this image below:

Image

This does not work out of the box at all, but if I put a delay in one of the steps then I can hit the 'Assist Me' 2-3 times and it works about 70% of the time even with per slot targeting. (Highlighted Above)

I am trying to get more predictable behavior and I am an ISBoxer noob. Are there any pros that can tell me what about my approach is fundamentally wrong so I can fix it properly? I am assuming the problem is that we have 3 steps here, and the event is triggered on 'Press up or down' which means it runs the first two steps no problem, but requires the extra work to handle the next step on another call to this. I think my approach is fundamentally flawed which is why it all falls apart when introducing more than 2 steps.

I don't want to keep spamming the key because then my fear is half the team will be starting combat and the other half that received the command will stop combat, or as it stands now some of them start nuking themselves instead.

I think one of the big problems here too is the nature of the targeting in the game. If I hit F1 to target myself for example, and then hit F1 again, it will cycle to my previous target and then back to me. I think this is causes some mixed behavior in case one of them does not receive the signal in time, in which case they are then targeting themselves, not able to initiate combat, and then if I broadcast attack commands they end up hurting themselves the entire fight instead. My goal is to have them acquire my primary toons target using the /assist, and then initiate autoattack with Q. This way I can verify they are all attacking my target before I started broadcasting hotbar commands like damage nukes and stuff on the monster (so they don't kill themselves or just keep my main toon targeted the entire time instead)

One way to make the behavior consistent would be to issue an ESC command to all child clients (clearing any targets they have in-game), THEN hitting the key for the /assist macro (NUM *), and FINALLY hitting Q to initiate autoattack. But this is adding even a 4th step and I am having trouble with just one extra step being read consistently.

I have spent many hours trying to figure out how to best tweak this but I am at the mercy of the pros. Maybe there is a better method to accomplish the steps I want with the 'Do Mapped Key' or something of that nature?

Thank you any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Multiboxing Anarchy Online (new engine Beta) for Free

You should probably add your 4th step. At the very least it would mean your 2 presses of your hotkey would cycle steps 1 and 2 on the first press/release, and steps 3 and 4 on the second press/release. At the moment, when you are on the second press/release it will be cycling back to step 1, unless of course you have another "Do not advance" setting that you haven't shown.

If it will work easier with the ESC in there, then I'd add it in, and I'd also remove the "Do not advance" options. You will get a natural pause there anyway with your own fingers.
