Resolution issue.

I'm trying to play EQ2, 4 windows all the same size however when the EQ2 screens come up the resolution on each is so big I can only see the login section, can't click any options or even the exit or enter game buttons that are on the bottom of the screen. It used to work a few months ago but as of last night, nothing worked, any suggestions would be great thanks :)

Re: Resolution issue.

This is very much EverQuest 2-specific:
EverQuest 2 normally has a minimum resolution of 800x600, and because of the game's internal design, if you go smaller than either 800 width or 600 height, the game will incorrectly render. (Noting that they usually prevent you from going lower, but ISBoxer is making it smaller anyway.)

So.. to work around this EverQuest 2-specific issue, you will need the game windows to be rendering at 800x600 or larger and they will need to be scaled down to this smaller size. (Noting that because the windows will be downscaled from the larger size, it may be difficult to read text...) The most painless way to do this is with a different Window Layout (via the Window Layout Wizard) with a main region that's 800x600 or larger, but you can keep the style you have with a couple minor modifications. Here's how:
1. In the top left pane under Window Layouts, select your Window Layout
2. In the bottom right pane make sure "Use Instant Swapping (synchronizes game resolutions)" is enabled. We're going to make it synchronize the game resolution to match a custom size.
3. In the bottom left pane select Regions
4. In the bottom right pane, right click somewhere in the preview box and either select Add Region if not right clicking on a Region, or Duplicate Region if you're clicking on an existing Region. It doesn't matter which.
5. In Step 4 we made a new Region. It should have the highest number of any of the displayed Regions, and it should also be selected for editing in the properties box to the right. Change the Size box. It needs to be "800,600" or larger, and for best results it should exactly match the aspect ratio of your other regions. For example, you can set this to the size of your monitor in order to scale them all down from full resolution, and the aspect ratio would likely already match.
6. In the Swap Groups tab to the right, change the "Reset region" option to your newly created region. You'll need to know the number, so if you made Region 5 and set the size of Region 5, then change the "Reset region" option to Region 5. This option tells the Window Layout what to sync the resolution to (and which monitor to do that on if you have more than one).
7. Export to Inner Space

Re-launch your team and that should do it. :)
