Completely new, question on DK

Hey everyone,

I am currently brand new to the site and software. I am currently running a 3DK team with a few questions.

1) Why do they stop following one another after combat with a single enemy
2) Is there a way to turn in quests with out swapping between each bot? I have tried doing the shift+alt+r for repeater but doesn't work to well.
3) When I switch between characters if I do broadcast repeater they tend to go off in their own directions? Wondering why this is.

Any good tips for key mapping and generally using the software for DKs would be greatly helpful and appreciated. Thank you all for your time and help it means a lot.

Re: Completely new, question on DK

I haven't played WoW for a while now, so I hope this is all still current info.

This is a feature of WoW (combat breaks follow). You either need to manually re-follow after each combat or use an addon like Jamba that provides follow strobing or auto-follow after combat.

2) Is there a way to turn in quests with out swapping between each bot? I have tried doing the shift+alt+r for repeater but doesn't work to well.

The feature you want is called Interact With Target (it is built into WoW).

3) When I switch between characters if I do broadcast repeater they tend to go off in their own directions? Wondering why this is.

I'd suggest the World of Warcraft forums on dual-boxing.com. Both Mosg and Ualaa have written DK-centric guides. They also talk about some of the issues above.

Re: Completely new, question on DK

Here's my guide: http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/3765 ... -Manifesto

Anytime you initiate melee combat, or movement (including turning and strafing), that breaks follow.
I'd personally put "IWT Follow Me" on an easy to use keybind (I use a mouse thumb button).
But you can also use the "Strobe" feature of Jamba, which auto initiates "Follow" every second or so, outside of combat.

For quests...
Have Click to Move enabled.
Have a hotkey for Interact With Target.
Target the quest NPC.
Have the slaves assist your main.
Press your IWT keybind.
That opens the quest window.

If you have Jamba, any option you pick with the main, the slaves will mimic.
You can set various options for quest rewards.
If they're all the same class & spec, having everyone take the same reward makes sense.
But you won't want that option, if you're running a mixed group with say a cloth user and a plate user or two.
You can also use the Mouse Repeater, with IS Boxer to do this.

I'd generally turn off Repeater, before switching to another toon.
By default you have Key Repeater and Mouse Repeater, as a single toggle with both on or both off.

In general, use Key Maps on and Repeater off, for most of your boxing.
And only disable Key Maps when you need to (single window chat or entering your passwords).
And only enable Repeater when you need to (everyone /cheer, or entering passwords).

Also in the FAQ: FAQ: Why do my guys stop auto-following when I fight something? -- details the specific combat mechanics that break follow.
