New to Boxing, hardware question

Hello,

I have read the thread about hardware requirements IE 1 core per client and 512 mb dedicated graphics card. My goal is to eventually 5 box on WOW. I'm thinking of taking the plunge of either buying a desktop or laptop with an i7 processor. The price is relatively the same.

I assume the desktop will run fine.
Would the laptop perform ok with running 5 clients? I'm not the most hardware oriented person but I do seem to recall something about laptops being less powerful than their desktop counterparts so hence why im asking.
Here are the specs for the laptop:

Processor Type
Intel Core i7-2670QM
Processor Cores 4
Processor Speed 2.2 GHz
RAM Size 8 GB
RAM Type DDR3 SDRAM
Graphics Chipset NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
Video Memory Configuration Dedicated
Dedicated Video Memory Size 1 GB

I would prefer to do it on the laptop as it takes up less space. if my main screen runs WOW at average setttings that would be fine.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: New to Boxing, hardware question

I 5-box on an ASUS G74SX laptop, i7-2630QM (2.0GHz) + 560M 2GB + 8GB RAM.

Your GPU will not perform quite as well as mine does, but you should have no problem at all 5-boxing WoW with those specs. Your framerate should be just fine
