Action Target Groups and Named WoW Macros

I want to use one of my shamans in more than one fashion, so I made a new character set that includes that player, and I decided to make the macros dynamic so I wouldn't need two separate macros for him. Below is an example

!if (character is in "Elemental Shamans") /castsequence Lightning Shield, Flametongue Weapon
!if (character is in "Resto Shaman") /castsequence Water Shield, Earthliving Weapon

I added action target groups to set them apart. Then, so I wouldn't have to move this shaman from one action target group to another when I switch between character sets, I made a mapped key that removes the character from the Elemental Shamans ATG and joins it to the Resto Shaman ATG. I specified this mapped key in "Perform this Mapped Key when Character Set is loaded or reloaded" however it doesn't seem to be working. When I load or reload the character set, the isboxer addon doesn't change to correspond with the updated script.

Am I doing this wrong?

You need to /reloadui in-game for any changes to the addon to be updated.

I know that. However, the lua code in the addon is not changing, so reloading the ui won't do anything. I located the line of code, and it still has the elemental shaman cast sequence even though I've loaded the character set that calls the mapped key that has that character leave the elemental shaman ATG and join the resto shaman ATG. Will the isboxer addon get updated whenever you modify ATGs, or only when you export to innerspace from isboxer?

Only when you export.

Re: Action Target Groups and Named WoW Macros

The macros in the ISBoxer Addon are generated only when you Export to Inner Space, as Alge said. If you have the luxury of being able to just change his ATG, Export, and do a /console reloadui, that is the easiest thing to set up ;)

Otherwise, to switch between your two sequences, you need standard WoW behaviors -- either use two different macros on two different keys, or use an optional modifier with [mod:ctrl] sort of thing, then either way you would need a toggle in ISBoxer to send one key combo or the other key combo (to pick the right macro you wanted at the time).

Thanks for the clarification, looks like my keymaps section is going to get very large as I start adding more team configurations. On that note, is there any way you could re-introduce a keybind count like the old World of Warcraft Macro Action had, where it would show the different WoW Macros using this key combination? Right now I'm adding macros kinda crazy-quilt, just using random key combinations. I expect I'll start running out and having trouble finding new key combinations to use soon...

It doesn't count them because the count would be mostly useless -- it would only be able to tell you if you reused the same key combination in the same WoW Macro Set. Instead, it will just tell you when you Export if you have conflicting macros on the same key combo. The count was much more useful when WoW macros were defined throughout your Key Maps, and mutual exclusion was more difficult..

1. Start out by putting your mutually exclusive WoW macros in different WoW macro sets. Death knight macros are useless to Druids for example.
2. Devise some system within those. For example, start out with Ctrl+Shift+Alt+A, then S, D, F, G, etc. When you run out of Ctrl+Shift+Alt, move on to Ctrl+Shift, Shift+Alt, or Shift+Ctrl. With letters and those sets of modifiers alone, you can have over 100 macros configured... per class.

Re: Action Target Groups and Named WoW Macros

You can also group your mapped keys by character set.

The Control Keymap is always on.
The General Keymap applies to all teams.
The FTL DPS Keymap also applies to all teams.

I've left the FTL DPS Keymap alone, but have made a copy of it for each team.
And named the copy after that character set, or character set and spec (my druids are very different as Feral, Boomkin or Resto).

If you make a new Keymap, be sure to modify the mapped key "Activate Maps" (both steps) to include that Keymap.
Keymap Actions > New Keymap State Action > Enable (or Disable) that Keymap for the Character set in question.

Then I set which Keymaps apply to which teams.
In the Toolkit, click your Character Set in the top left pane.
In the bottom left, delete FTL DPS Keys (the Keymap) from the list of Key Maps that apply to your team.
Drag the desired Keymaps down from the top left pane.
My teams usually have Control, General and the Keymap named after the set.

Left click on Keymaps in the lower left pane.
On the right click on White List, so only the selected Key Maps can ever load for this character set.
Click on (or click off) until the desired Key Maps are highlighted in blue.
