ResetDevice() Failed upon exiting EQ after 5/15 patch

Hi,

All 4 of my systems started seeing this immediately after the 5/15 EQ patch. Nothing had changes on my systems or in isboxer in between.

Everything launches fine, functionality while in game is fine, hotkeys, etc all work perfectly.

However, Upon camping and exiting out of Everquest, a dialog box appears "ResetDevice() failed" pops up and then EQ is stuck. Have to kill it from task manager (or reboot).

I didn't see a current post with this error, so wanted to put one up.

If there is any data I can collect, I'd be more than happy to.

*ADD* - If i /q instead of /camp , the ResetDevice() failed error does not occur.

Also performing a camp without ISBoxer running does not result in the ResetDevice() failed error.

Hi there, been tracking this issue. Build 7260 obviously had the ResetDevice error when exiting. For a couple weeks, I have been using the dev build 7263 since the release notes indicate a fix for the ResetDevice error. Indeed, the ResetDevice error is fixed. However, ISB is crashing consistently after some amount of idle time on every instance of EQ loaded. This happens on all three of my PCs. I send in the crash reports when they happen. I can screen shot one if necessary. I assume this is not a problem unique to me but wanted to make sure you guys/gals were aware. Normally, you guys have fixed issues like this by now. (No pressure/fault meant by that, just explains why I am finally posting about it )

I reactivated isboxer yesterday, patched it and I get the same error.
Will there be a solution for this?

Which same error?

AFAWAA the Reset Device error is resolved in the current dev build.
The crashes that were being experienced by the OP were specifically addressed in the current dev build, so if you are receiving a crash, then we'd need to know what it is, as it is unlikely to be the same cause as was experienced by the OP.


To update to the current Development build of Inner Space, right click Inner Space, select Patcher, click the Development tab, use the Check for Updates button if needed and click Install Now to actually install it.

If you are getting a crash, we'd like a crash dump please.
Check in your Inner Space folder for a .dmp file named like name_of_client.exe.dmp, otherwise check %LocalAppData%\CrashDumps (you can press Windows+R and paste that into the Run box) for name_of_client.exe.####.dmp (where #### is the process ID that crashed/disappeared/didn't launch)

hiya , im new to the boards here but have been using isb for over a decade and i took an 8mo hiatus from EQ just came back and now im getting a reset device failed on exiting EQ when i hit quit from character select it crashes with that message popup reset device failed ? any solution to this yet pls and tyvm

ok I updated to the dev build and so far (course ive only logged in and out twice ) but so far no device reset failure .. so looking good .. thank you guys
