Make copy of profile that will work on PTR?

Is there a way to make a copy of my regular WoW profile work on the PTR?

It should be as simple as...

1) Add the WoW executable from the PTR folder
2) Create a new Character Set using the new Game/Game Profile for the PTR (or just change the Game/Game Profile attached to your current Characters)
3) Export your settings and launch your new team
