New Rules :-(

So it seems that the powers at be in CCP have issued another bash at the ISBoxer crew. This time it is DXNothing.

4. However, if any third party application or other software is used to gain any unfair advantage, or for purposes beyond its intended use, or if the application or other software violates other parts of the EULA, we may fully enforce our rights to prohibit such use, including player bans.
We do consider overlays using elements of a second or multiple other EVE clients to be against the rules. It changes the way the game is played and grants the player unfair advantages over other players. For example, having overviews from other EVE clients as overlays on one EVE client would allow a player to get real time intel from all those other game instances without having to switch to the other windows. Similarly, overlays using elements from a second or multiple other EVE clients to allow the player to activate modules etc. on those other game instances without switching to the other client windows are clearly in violation of our rules.

I read that is no more DXNothing... or am I wrong?

For that matter the multi screen is now illegal as one can see lots of screens at same time. So for all it looks like they banning Boxer and going to say.. "Use our launcher" to be legal.

I am so sad...

I don't know why the genius bar at CCP would say such a thing.. You do not have to switch to a game window to see information from it. If you play the game in windowed mode, you can use a 4K display and fit plenty of windows around, or use multiple monitors. But "clearly" having multiple monitors is now against their rules, due to allowing you to get real time intel from all those other game instances without having to switch to the other windows.

I will point out that the overlays are a feature of Windows DWM though, so you might also be weary of simply holding down Windows+Tab...

Similarly, overlays using elements from a second or multiple other EVE clients to allow the player to activate modules etc. on those other game instances without switching to the other client windows are clearly in violation of our rules.

"Clearly" only as of this statement.

Sad indeed, but CCP's rules are CCP's rules.

I will also note that they only mention overlays on top of clients. I have a third monitor for this...so no overlay on top of my active client.

This was my understanding, as well, and I thought this was already established. CCP defines "modifying the game client" as putting VFX on top of the game client itself. While, by any normal definition, this isn't actually true since the game client is not being touched in any way (as with any overlay), but made up rules are rules when you're in control of the game. This "addition" to their rules seems like they're just finally getting around to adding it into their ToS, and that's it.

Re: New Rules :-(

but reading that about overlays, what about Teamspeaks overwolf overlay, isn't that just doing what isboxer does?
