Toons do not stay in sync

New to multi boxing and my 3 toons will not stay in sync. I want to be able to loot with all 3 toons in a dugeon. Everything I read about toons not in sync say turn off broadcasting, but I can I loot on all 3 toons with it off?

Re: Toons do not stay in sync

Most of the time, broadcasting should be off. Sometimes you may need to turn it on to interact with certain UI elements which are the same all the screens. Like Menus, or NPC interactions. Generally 2d interfaces broadcasting is super.

For moving around and stuff, no broadcasting.

This thread covers the looting thing.

/e: but generally, looting is a PITA, and the most consistent method is either Interact With Target, or select item, Assist from main, broadcast the "use" key, potentially broadcast some mouse clicks for menus.

Re: Toons do not stay in sync

You enable Key maps and press 1.

The default setup will create specific Mapped Keys which do "stuff". One of those "stuff" things is actually to broadcast keystrokes, but only from specific hotkeys. In the default setup, this is 1 to = keys on your keyboard (usually these match the main action bar in pretty much every MMO out there). Sometimes that "stuff" is also a bit more fancy, like with WoW, it might call and Assist Me first, so your slave toons will Assist your main toon (and select the same target he is), and then broadcast the 1 key to all the game windows. But, it only does it for the keys that are setup, so when you move (with WASD or Arrows or whatever) your toons don't all run in different directions, because, chances are, they are nto all facing the exact same way, or standing on the exact same spot, or looking with the exact same camera angle, or have the exact same lag intervals.

This stuff is covered many times. The best place is the WIKI. Or MiRai's youtube channel. He has some great tutorial videos. Or even using the search feature of these forums (or site:search on google).
