different resolutions on some machines
That messes up the login screens, and then gets reset to the resolution of the active region anyway once I am in game. So I set all the laptop .INI files
windowed size back to 1580x870, the resolution of the active region, as they have been for a few years.
I also set the Repeater Profiles in the character sets running on the laptop to a new Scaled profile, which says scale relative to center of screen.
This way, the login screens look normal with properly centered elements. And the in-game fake cursor for broadcasting tracks well, once I am logged in.
But the fake cursor on the login screens is still off by a considerable amount. I cannot log in by clicking on UI elements.
At this point I am stuck. I do not know what else to try.

I could not see where to get a link from pastebin after pasting my profile. So here is a link to the same data posted to my dropbox account:

I hope that works. Haven't really used this stuff yet.
My problem is that I got a new UHD display for my desktop machine. Not that this is a problem in itself... I love the higher resolution and bigger screen.
But now I have different window layouts on the desktop and the laptop, and I am having trouble getting it to work correctly.
Previously I had 1920x1080 screens on both, and it was simple. The same layout worked for both.
On those screens I use a 1580x870 active region in the upper left corner, with 8 small 300x170 home regions for my 8 accounts arranged along the edge and bottom of the active region. That is the layout called 8slot in the above configuration.
This worked well. No problems though the aspect ratios were not quite the same in the small regions and the active region.
I made a new layout, 8slot-big, for my new display. This has a 1920x1200 active region and home regions off to the side.
I want to use the old layout for the laptop, the new one for the desktop.
I read the documents, looked at the options, and watched the video about solving mouse repeater problems and managing different resolutions several times.
I changed all the everquest .INI files on the laptop to say 1920x1200 windowed size, since the video emphasized that all clients should be rendering at the same resolution. I don't know how else to change the resolution in EQ. I changed them on the desktop as well, and that seems to work ok.
But on the laptop it does not stick.
When I try to log in characters on both machines at once using broadcasting, the mouse is off. Or really the display is off... the login subscreen that is centered on my main display is shifted off toward the lower right of the window on my laptop, just as though I were viewing the upper left corner of a larger window. Which might be the case, if it is being rendered at 1920x1200 and displayed in the smaller active region without being shrunk to fit? The mouse is not where it belongs.
I can get them loaded by ignoring the mouse and using keystrokes only.
Once loaded, the game behaves normally and the mouse seems to track.
In game, if I look at video resolution, it is back to saying 1580x870, the size of the active region. And when I exit, those are the numbers stored in the .INI for for WindowedWdth and WindowedHeight, not the 1920x1200 i put there before loading.
Can anyone sort this out for me? I'm confused. Why did Mirai say to set the game resolutions at all, if active region resolution is going to over-ride what you set in-game?
