Lot of issues lately Unknown unit, not attacking

Lately I have been getting unknown unit with a lot of toons sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
makes no sense really. Reloading ui at times fixes things. So I deleted everything and tried to set everything up from scratch.

Now I have found that one I need to make sure I load say both Dk's for example (if Im on both accounts DK') then reload UI to get rid of the unknown unit issue. This kinda of sucks if I wind up loggin on to different toons. I use to not have to do this. Next up even when I do this and get rid of the unknown unit error, my toons don't attack the target I am on. They use to no problem. I would run up to a target if melee and start hitting buttons and the other account would do the same. Not anymore. Same if its a caster. If I targeted something and started to attack my other account would start casting on it.

So Im frustrated a bit here. Any ideas for me?

Re: Lot of issues lately Unknown unit, not attacking

Unknown unit is usually because of 2 reasons
1. The name of the unit in ISBoxer is not the same as in game.
2. You have logged the toons into the wrong slot

1 could be caused by a variety of reasons, but the most likely is that you have not logged in the matching toon as that in the currently running character set, so if you have Bob and Steve character set, and it is expecting Bob in slot 1 and Steve in slot 2, but you log Carl into Slot 1 and Steve into Slot 2, then when you issue an /Assist Bob, then Steve is going to go who the %"*& is Bob. Same deal if you log in Bob and Steve, and then later switch Bob to Carl. When you do this, you normally need to log both out to the char select screen, launch the Carl and Steve character set in InnerSpace, and then log in Carl and Steve, OR you logout Bob, log Carl in, select your Carl and Steve char set in InnerSpace, and then run a /reloadUI so the correct ISBoxer Addon is loaded for both Carl and Steve. You might also be using generic values for names in ISBoxer. This wont work.

2 is normally (well, it is pretty much the same as 1 really) you just logged in Steve into Slot 1 whereas ISBoxer was expecting Bob to be in Slot 1, so when Bob says Assist Me, Steve is in Bob's slot, so ends up executing /Assist Steve, and WoW just says you cant do that Steve, although with the cryptic message of "unknown unit", despite the fact you are just standing there already. Apparently you are not allowed to fondle yourself in this game.

Re: Lot of issues lately Unknown unit, not attacking

I was able to fix the non attacking issue by running through set up again, but the unknown unit thing just seems buggy to me now.
This thing ran great for a year or so and just taking a dump on me.
I thought it was other addons causing issue, but just a reload of my ui fixes it for me so I don't know for sure.

Re: Lot of issues lately Unknown unit, not attacking

Unknown unit is the game, not ISBoxer.

Simply, for Assist and Follow, ISBoxer issues a slash command, like /Assist Bob. It gets the name Bob from the character name in ISBoxer. It is the game that is not accepting that. If the characters are in the same realm and grouped up, then is should work correctly.

It is possible that poor CPU performance may be a cause if you have ruled out other options. You could try running the CPU strategy wizard, and make sure you are using the "Select all CPUs with every window (HyperThreading).......", this is the last option in the drop down.
