New to Isboxer, cant login

Using windows10, want to box 2 accounts.

I read this:

--------------------------
Don't skip this part. If you skip this part, you are going to ask me why your password doesn't work. It's not going to work because Key Maps are enabled and you don't want your keys to be mangled when you're entering your password. You want to type in your password, not activate auto-assisting.

So, turn off Key Maps to enter your password. To do this, use the Shift+Alt+M hotkey, or click on the "A,Z" icon that starts out with green (activated) arrows.

If your password is the same on all accounts, you can enter your password in all windows at the same time via Key broadcasting. To do this, use the Shift+Alt+R hotkey, or click on the "A,A" icon that starts out with gray (deactivated) arrows.

If you have an Authenticator, you will need a separate Authenticator code in each window. The codes will only work in the order they were given to you by the Authenticator, so make sure that you actually use them when you put in each code.

--------------------------

I used "Quick setup wizard" and followed the steps there, in addition to disabling key maps before entering account info / password / authenticator key as stated in "Part 2 - Quick Wizard start guide".

I get error and it says password or account info is wrong. I double checked my info at eu.battle.net to make sure the info was correct!

Thanks for any help!

You can try typing your password into the Username field, to make sure what you are typing is what you are expecting it to be. I'd do the same with the authenticator info too if you are using one.

It might be a key is still being trapped (which might be the case if you have created a mapped key and put it in the Always On key map).

You should also make sure that Battle.net is not being used to log in. Or if it is, you need to make sure it is closed between each character.

Re: New to Isboxer, cant login

Thanks for the post!

I am using an authenticator.

I tried typing my password in account name, and It was what I expected to type.

The authenticator window shows the numbers im typing so that shouldnt be a problem.

I am launching the 2 accounts this way: right clicking the "inner space" icon on the tray in the bottom right side on windows, and selecting "isboxer character sets" then "My stored set".

EDIT: Does the "battle.net app" interfere with the isboxer login?

Super, rules out bad info, although that in itself makes it a bit odd...

Not that I know of, but if you have more than 1 battle.net account, then you'd need a second authenticator from what I understand. The other part of the puzzle is that if InnerSpace is launching the battle.net application, then you need to ensure it is closing completely between launches, otherwise the first account would be logging in again.

I'm not really sure where to go from here. I don't use an authenticator, so have no experience with the potential issues.

You probably need to do this:

1) Navigate to where the config.wtf files are located (e.g. (WoW Folder\WTF)
2) Open each and every virtualized config.wtf file (e.g. config-CHARACTERNAME.wtf)
3) Ensure that the line PORTAL line is set to EU.
4) Save and close them.
5) Launch your Character Set through Inner Space and enter your information as you normally would (with Key Maps disabled).

Thanks for the response!

This is what the 5 first lines in the config file looks like of char1:
SET portal "EU"
SET textLocale "enUS"
SET audioLocale "enUS"
SET agentUID "wow_en"
SET timingTestError "4"
SET hwDetect "0"

This is what the 5 first lines in the config file looks like of char2:
SET portal "EU"
SET textLocale "enUS"
SET audioLocale "enUS"
SET agentUID "wow_en"
SET timingTestError "4"
SET hwDetect "0"

This is what the 5 first lines in the config file looks like of configwtf:
SET portal "EU"
SET textLocale "enUS"
SET audioLocale "enUS"
SET agentUID "wow_eneu"
SET hwDetect "0"

Looks like its already set to EU, still can't login. Wrong account name / password!

Re: New to Isboxer, cant login

The AgentUID line is different between the configs. Google doesn't provide much in the way of answers of what this line actually does, but I'd be inclined to make the config files all the same.

Re: New to Isboxer, cant login

Deleted the config files and my character set and made a new character set.

After I exported the set to inner space and tried to start the character set, IS prompted me about what region I wanted to play in, selected EU.

Double checked the config files to make sure portal was set to EU, it was set to EU.

Still can't login

Re: New to Isboxer, cant login

Solved the problem:

My password has a special character, I made new password without special character and it worked.

I did disable key mapping and the special character worked when I typed it in account name, but when I added the special character to password window it didnt work.

Also tried copy paste the password, but that didnt work either.

How can I have special characters in password and still be able to login? I promise I did double check to make sure key maps was disabled

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: when I type certain special characters in the password field they give 2 stars instead of 1 star, with key mapping disabled

That is very bizzare. InnerSpace does not do anything to the game interfaces, nor change any input streams, so if it works in one box, it should work in the other.

Also extremely odd.

Is the special character using an AltGr key on your keyboard to create it? If so, then the issue might be that you have not ticked the "I have an AltGr Key" option during the Quick Setup Wizard in ISBoxer.
