I plan on doing 2, maybe three. Trying to learn all this before the server launches, hopefully I can.

EDIT:
After reading up and seeing that that are not specifically calling it a No Box server as per their prior posts, but rather if you really want to box, then you will need to do it across multiple computers (and presumably the theory is you do it manually with multiple mice/keyboards).
Personally, I'd just use one of the other servers instead of going around annoying all the haters who are likely to flock there.

True - I'd stay on Lockjaw if they would add instancing. Unfortunately, they are only adding raid instancing to the new one that opens Wednesday 9th Dec. The frustration with staying, is that one raid guild dominated 100% of the targets, leaving the rest of the server to sit on the sidelines. I'm a boxer, but I also want to play on the new instanced server so I can actually see the raid content. It's not my intent on mass boxing, I'm just playing a few toons - which is going to be common there one way or another.

My opinion of "the old fashioned way" of boxing is that it is not assisted. But it is my opinion.

ISBoxer currently has no capabilities to interrogate your game and determine which server you will be connecting to, and if it got those capabilities without help from DBG, then it would probably be breaking various clauses within the EULA/TOS for read game memory or some such. There may be another safe method of course. I've not looked deeply into it, and have not heard of any plans to do so. Doesn't mean it wont happen if requested from DBG, but I suspect there would have been an announcement if that was the case.
So, any limits you encounter are going to be those already stated. Your personal use subscription to InnerSpace is limited to 5 computers at one location. If you want more, then you should look into a business subscription, or contact Lax directly.

I'd like to also point out, MULTI-PC setups can be frustrating to get functioning (firewalls are a PITA), and the Targets can be annoying to get right. e.g. if you are running 5 computers, with 5 character sets, you also have 5 * Slot 1's, and no Slot 2's. You will need to take this into account in your configuration. Per Slot Targeting, and its default implementers, such as Assist Me and Follow Me, as setup in the default configuration, wont work without a bunch of rejigging. ISBoxer2 is expected to fix this issue, but as it is not here yet, we have to work with what there is.

Surely that kind of complaint comes under fair play, or impacting upon the enjoyment of other players due to the prevention of anyone else from actually running the content?? (although I can't find mention of this style of policy for DBG - most other MMO's have one though). It's a bit like a boxer camping out with their 100+ toons and griefing everyone who happens to wander through a bottleneck.

Only thing I'd really like to get running over the 5 comps in the 10 button overlay bar.

Can create a hot button on each comp in the same location that's simply something like /target xzy, /follow. When you hit that on the main comp - all toons on the other 4 follow you. Can add an /assist XYZ and then a couple spell gems for nukes or whatever and you are done.

I have an agenda, I don't want boxing on Phinny.
I think if that server is a success DBG might interpret that as an excuse to crack down on ALL third party tools that are used to assist boxing.

Having said that, I wish this post said "isboxer will not be modified to bypass any restriction put in place by DBG" but anyway here it is, and ill settle for "not likely":

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7090

I made my objections clear to people who wants to keep using third party tools be they "legal" or "illegal" on this server or bypassing the DBG scan on it.

Please don't. I don't want this server to turn into a test case for expanding the true boxing ruleset to other games and servers.

Phinny needs to die quickly, so we can get back to playing eq the way it was meant to be played, aka boxed.
Just stay away from it, we might get a boxing allowed instanced server in the spring, if we do.

They will never stop boxing on all servers. No way in hell. Too much revenue, its clear this server is an exception. Why would they shoot themselves in the foot?

DBG scans for all third party tools, as long as you know the risks, go for it.

Only dbg knows which third party tools they are banning for and which ones, if any, are safe.
I will have done my due diligence and warned about it before server went live, with this post.
So I don't want to see any "no one told us it wasn't safe" posts here a week from now.

I wish you all Good Luck.
