New to isboxer and clueless

So today i purchased the isboxer software and planned on trying it out. Before i have boxed with 2 computers traditionally and it worked but not as effective. I am very aggravated right now as i can not figure out how to use this... I use the quick setup wizard and set things like autofollow keybinds and stuff but when i get in game they dont work? I have been trying to figure this out for almost 2 hours now and every guide i have found so far doesn't really help those who have never used it. The only guides that kind of do that are for eq 2 and some of the steps get lost as the games are different...I can't even figure out how to follow myself or anything. I would very much appreciate if someone could help me out.

Re: New to isboxer and clueless

EQ and EQ2 are pretty close in usage, and the process for the Quick Setup Wizard is almost exactly the same for every game.

But the places where you normally go wrong are:
1. You are not using one of the proscribed methods to launch the game
After using the Quick Setup Wizard and then Exporting the configuration (File, Export), you will need to launch your Character Set. There are 3 ways of doing so:
1. Right click the Inner Space icon in the system tray, and find the Character Set listed under the ISBoxer Character Sets menu
2. Right click the Character Set in the top pane in ISBoxer, and select Launch
3. or, Create a desktop Launch shortcut. To do so, right click the Character Set in the top pane in ISBoxer, and select Create desktop Launch shortcut
I recommend you use the first one, as this eliminates some potential hiccups.

2. You have disabled Key Maps to log in, and not yet enabled them again (SHIFT+ALT+M or the left Toggle button)

3. When performing the Quick Setup Wizard, you have changed the Hotkey for Follow (this defaults to ALT+F) so you are pressing the wrong thing.

4. When performing the Quick Setup Wizard, you did not set the in game keybind for Follow/Assist on the Game Key Bindings tab.

The game keybind values should match the socials you have configured as per this post.. http://www.isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2247.
Note: this linked post tells you to configure your socials and then edit the Variable Keystrokes -> Follow Target, Assist Target items. That is correct too, as it is setting the same items that the Wizard would be setting if you filled in the highlighted settings. It is just editing those same settings outside of the Wizard, rather than inside.

Re: New to isboxer and clueless

So i can assist and everything fine while having broadcasting off but to follow i have to turn it on. The only issue i have is that i have to turn broadcasting on to follow and then turn off before moving or else the box copies my movement and breaks follow. Is that how its supposed to be? And also when i want to send mage pet in i have to turn broadcasting on to make both pets go in and turn off or any movement will break follow. I am definately doing something wrong

Re: New to isboxer and clueless

You should not need to turn on broadcasting to make follow work, and if the game itself is not recognising your in game keybind for follow (easy test is disable broadcasting and disable keymaps, then everything should be passed through to the game), then it sounds like your social is not configured correctly, or you have something else which is trapping the keystrokes.

Yes, broadcasting movement breaks follow. It's generally not the done thing. As for Pets, each game may handle them slightly differently, but I assume it is you selected a target on your main, hit assist, then hot your hotkey to broadcast the Pet Attack to all toons. If you don't have a hotkey for that, then you should create one with the Mapped Key Wizard. Maybe a Straight Key Broadcast would suffice. An Assist and Broadcast would probably save you a step too.

Maybe you should share your configuration so we can rule any misconfigurations out.
