ATG assignment Q

I think my thread on G15 has exceeded its lifespan, as my questions are increasingly not about the G15. So I'll open up some new threads.

I now have some more time to work with ISBoxer, so I'll be hanging around for the next few days asking questions :D My continued appreciation for all of the help I've received.

I'm still working through the invite process, and feel like I'm making some progress. However I am stuck on one point.
The "Group Formation" guide (Step 4) gives an example of two possible group role assignments. How is this mapped key
activated?

Character set load maps the appropriate CHARACTER SET TEMPLATE (during VMK map)
The character set template assigns group roles (Profile Overview, KEY MAP TEMPLATES: SESSIONS - CHARACTER SET)

So that key "01: BRD-MAG-DRU-SHM-CLR" would be activated somewhere in a specific character set. The current template
has no mappings in the different character sets, but I suppose it maps something like "Group Roles 01" which would be
used by the different character sets. (I'm guessing that after the Character Set finishes mapping its VMKs, "Group Roles 01" in CHARACTER SET TEMPLATE is valid) But who presses it?

I'm starting to look at the General tab for each character set, and see "Perform this Mapped Key when Character Set is loaded or reloaded". Here? Is this done after the character set has completed its mappings?

I could start stuffing things in different places, but I don't want to break other virtualized stuff I might want to use later.

Re: ATG assignment Q

The "Perform this mapped key when Character Set is Loaded/Reloaded" will happen way to early for you to be trying to do an Auto Invite, mainly because it will happen a long time before you've managed to log your characters in, and the "Perform this mapped key when Character is Loaded/Reloaded" is even earlier, and then the "Do this mapped key when I switch to this character" would be annoying as it will try and do an invite everytime you switch to this character while playing.

I'm gonna say, YOU press it. Set a hotkey somewhere.

For testing purposes, it is probably easiest to set a hotkey you aren't using elsewhere, and on the lowest part of this convoluted chain, which actually is actually doing the invite. Once you get it working, then move the hotkey back to where it should be, in the Hotkeys Key Map, and get it to call the SESSIONS template Invite mapped key (you could do this in the beginning but you'd need all the virtualisation in place).

Re: ATG assignment Q

Sorry I wasn't clear. My question wasn't for an auto-invite, it was to setup stuff for the invite. Somehow the ATGs get established before the invites can be sent. The current posted template has keybinds "Control: Invite Me to Group 1" in the character templates. Each of these sends keypresses to ATGs like "Group-1 Leader" or "Current Boxes". The ATGs had to have been setup before the invite was sent.

So while I will map a physical key to the invite later, I'd like to have these ATGs setup first. And I'd like to do it however it was intended to be done. I doubt that there was a physical key bound to ATG formation.

Nevermind, I'm an idiot.

Firescue17 explained the whole process, and it was on my reading list. I just found that note to "read this". Will go do that now.

Re: ATG assignment Q

If you follow through on the configuration, the roles assignment comes out some clicking on buttons of the menu that is setup.

You're correct, there is no hotkey, but rather a menu button which calls a Placeholder mapped key which in turn is virtualised to the top of the Group: Roles.

Thanks, I went and reread what he wrote, and it didn't address the ATG setup. But a separate menu press sounds good.

I'm looking over the Menu system right now. But it will be tough to top the G15 overlay :D

I'm pretty sure than Image 22 is showing a picture of the G15 overlay menu. This is probably just one of the pages on it.

Re: ATG assignment Q

Image22 from where? Firescue links to the ISBoxer Menu entry (when he says the previous guide was deprecated).

The previous guide didn't go up to 22. I'm digging through the menu forum.

I'm redoing my previous click-bar based stuff to use the new menu system, and have it looking OK. But if someone has already done this I would like to read what they said.

PS: nevermind, I see it under Group Formation.

And oh look, there are the role setting buttons. /facepalm
