Next Window, Prev Window out of sequence

Innerspace version 1.13, Build 6062.
After updating to that version, my "next windows', "prev window" key maps in ISBoxer no longer switch windows in sequence. The are going 1 to 4, to 5, to 2, to 3, to 1.

Re: Next Window, Prev Window out of sequence

Having same version and build, same problem.
Sequence of windows in windows task bar seems fine, just not when switching through clients. Also some keybindings like previous client does not seem to work.

Any fix?

Re: Next Window, Prev Window out of sequence

There was an update in 6062 that adjusted the next/prev behaviour to honor the Filter Target as previously it apparently did not in some circumstances (personally I never saw this but others reported it).

So, depending on your window config, and the order in which your slots complete their start up process, you might now be getting the order of the isboxer ATG, which is a standard ATG that is created when you use the ISBoxer Character Sets / Slot items from the Innerspace menu (and probably from ISBoxer and a desktop shortcut too).

If you want ordered next/prev according to your slots, then use "Window:All w/Current" or "all" in the Filter. If you need to exclude things, then you can also do "all&~dxNothing", or you can be more explicit and roll your own with "(is1,is2,is3,is4,is5)" etc. You could also clear the Filter Target box if you only have game windows and no dxnothings (worked for fireymerlin).

If you are still having trouble with the Previous rotation that would be good to report back please.

Re: Next Window, Prev Window out of sequence

Inner Space build 6062 fixed a bug with the Previous and Next window features NOT following the order specified in the Focus Window Action (part of the Next/Previous window Hotkeys). When NOT following the Filter Targer order, internal Session IDs are used (which do not necessarily match the order of "is1" "is2" etc) and this is what you were used to. Depending on the game you're playing and the launch process, the default order after this fix may be incorrect.

You can revert to the previous order (which will be out of sequence if you close and reopen game windows anyway) by removing the "Filter Target" in the Focus Window Action. Or, you can enforce a specific client order by changing the Filter Target to a specifically-ordered value.

Here's what to do.
1. In the top left pane under Mapped Keys, select Always On (or whichever Key Map contains your active next/previous mappings)
2. In the bottom left pane expand Next window (and Previous window after, if desired)
3. Select the Step "1" under it
4. In the bottom right pane, the Focus Window Action should already be selected. By default, the Filter Target is set to "isboxer&~dxnothing". You can remove it entirely, or paste in the following (good for up to 20 game instances):
Code:
(is1,is2,is3,is4,is5,is6,is7,is8,is9,is10,is11,is12,is13,is14,is15,is16,is17,is18,is19,is20)&isboxer&~dxnothing

5. Repeat 2-4 for Previous window if you want.

The *only* way to have your next/previous windows sorted in order every time regardless of whether any are opened/closed later, is to paste the given text in the Filter Target box.

Re: Next Window, Prev Window out of sequence

thanks for the two very quick replies!!

Trying the: "Window:All w/Current" filter option now. Seems to fix my problem since the sequence of windows is correct again.

I just want to point out that I'm not suggesting using that filter option, and that one should operate the same as just removing the Filter Target. It will be out of order sometimes. :)

Re: Next Window, Prev Window out of sequence

Inner Space build 6066 adds a new sorting operator for the Advanced Targeting Mechanics, which will simplify everything here.

Here is an example of the new "@" operator in use:
Image
Notice how "all" is completely out of order in my screenshot. This can happen fairly easily to yours as well. However, "@all" is nicely ordered as desired.

So the default filter target, "isboxer&~dxnothing" can be changed to "@isboxer&~dxnothing" for perfect ordering every time. Make this change for your Next/Previous hotkeys! </thread>

I can't build this change directly into ISBoxer yet since it requires build 6066 and will break things on any prior build. Some people won't be on the new build for a while. A near-future ISBoxer update will automatically replace "isboxer&~dxnothing" with one of my previous suggestions though.

Do you have an official definition for the "@"? What does it do?

It's added to http://isboxer.com/wiki/Target. It's called Sort, and it "sorts all windows in the Target on the right side. (Requires Inner Space build 6066 or later.)" Shown in the screenshot applied to "all"
