Is it possible to map the left/right mouse click to a key?

Hello,

First off, just wanted to say hello. I used ISBoxer for years while playing EverQuest. Loved it for multiboxing.

I'm periodically going back to playing Diablo 3, but finding I cannot play for very long due to my, self-diagnosed, carpal tunnel. My wrist begins to burn after about an hour or so.

Is there a way I can map the left and/or right click to a key on the keyboard, to make it easier on my wrist? In EverQuest, I had macros setup to do a number of clicking for me. Is it possible to have a key stroke send a right click, wait a second, then second another right click?

Many thanks for any assistance. It's greatly appreciated!

Yep. In the Wizards menu select Mapped Key Wizard. Pick a Key Map to put this in -- I would recommend either the Combat or Non-combat Key Maps (not Always On, since you may want to toggle this off to use that key normally!) -- and then pick "Key Re-Map" for the type of key to set up. Pick a Hotkey, use Mouse1 or Mouse2 as the key to send, tell it where to send it, and finish the wizard. Export to Inner Space after making changes :)

Is it possible to have a key stroke send a right click, wait a second, then second another right click?

ISBoxer does not provide any method of delayed action like this. However, you can set it up to where you press (and hold) a Hotkey to send a right click, you wait a second and let go of the Hotkey to send another right click. The only difference in setting this kind up is you want to set it to "pressed OR released" mode, where it will default to "released".

Thanks, Lax!

I cannot seem to find Mouse1 or Mouse2 in the dropdown list... Is this the right place?

For the Hotkey to re-map, put in your keyboard button to use as the Hotkey.

For Key Combination to send, this is where you want to put in Mouse1 or Mouse2. In the Hotkey Picker box you're looking at, you can click in the "Press the key combination here" box to fill it in for you with that click.

Thanks. I tried that, but it does not detect any mouse clicks (left, middle, or right) in that field, nor can I find Mouse1 or Mouse2 in the dropdown list.

Umm.. Inner Space forces Mouse1-Mouse5 to exist, so that's interesting. Try this ... close Inner Space and ISBoxer, go into your Inner Space folder and delete InputDevices.XML. Then re-launch Inner Space. This will re-create the input device info, which ISBoxer pulls from for the drop-down box.

Lax,

That fixed it. I have at least three times more options in the dropdown list now, including Mouse1 thru Mouse8. The textbox also correctly detects mouse click events now.

Thanks :)

You could make a mapped key, which cannot advance for a set period of time.
As long as you were to manually push the hot key, at least as fast as your desired once per second...
The mapped key would fire off at the desired interval.

If you were spamming the 'spam' key 3-4 times a second, it could call a two step mapped key which did something on step 1 and step 2 was blank (but unable to advance, or loop back to step 1 for 1 second).
Then you get your desired ability firing off once a second.

You basically do the same to round-robin a desired ability.
If the ability has a 12 second cooldown, and lasts for 3 seconds.
You can have a four step mapped key, each step unable to advance for 3 seconds.
With four characters, you'd have full uptime.
The second activation cannot happen for 3 seconds, the third for three additional seconds, etc.
As long as the hot key, or the spam key which calls this mapped key, is pressed at least once every three seconds...
If you were to spam your spam key 3-4 presses per second, it would call your round-robin ability at most 0.33 seconds after it was capable of firing off.

That's not exactly what you're asking about... you'd be spamming your key more often, rather than fewer presses of the key for the desired result.
